The PM’s own dad defying the rules yet again... embarrassing https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...father-coronavirus-no-mask-tube-b1774066.html
Not cheering on the government, just giving credit where it's due. You, and your sort, will never, ever get what patriotism even is. You just endlessly insult everyone by calling it nationalism. Quite pathetic.
You don't find signing a continuity trade deal to protect trade benefits that we already had hugely patriotic? Oddball.
Remainers are never satisfied. If we hadn't signed the trade deal with Mexico, it would be " told you so". Now that we have, as an interim measure to a tailored agreement next year, they're sniffy about it
It's worth something because we can tailor a deal between the two countries, and not follow a one size fits all negotiated by the Eurozone.
Why not wait and see what kind of deal we are able to tailor, then. Nothing has been achieved yet. Anyway, I thought you said the other day what I've been saying all along - that Brexit was all about immigration rather than trade deals. I must try and find that post.
This morning ( Wednesday ) MP Tobias Ellwood on the wireless ... Also Tobias Ellwood ... Rules for thee but not for me.
I've never said Brexit was all about immigration, but it definitely does include controlling borders and giving Parliament the right to determine population numbers, including those numbers coming in. I thought you said the EU was going to give fishing away in order to get LPF. No sign of that whatsoever. In fact, fishing is proving to be a most problematic issue (as I predicted), because the UK insists it must control its waters post Brexit, and north coast EU states including France are demanding continuity of fishing for the benefit of their local communities.
Yeah, both Barnier and von der Leyen have said that only fishing remains problematic, which presumably means that Johnson has given them what they wanted on LPF. I can't believe that either side would let differences on fishing be a deal-breaker, so more likely it's a bit of theatrics to give Johnson something to wave his flag about in the end.
I think LPF has been broken down into sectors, so there was room for compromise. I suspect there will be a compromise on fishing too, based on transition whereby UK fishing fleets get a bigger share annually, and conversely, EU fleets withdraw gradually. A trade deal won't include financial services. Not much is being said on this. There is talk of agreement on equivalence to allow financial institutions to interact between UK and EU (this doesn't cover merchant banks) but Brussels is dragging its feet. If a trade deal is signed, I suspect MDM attention will focus on this area
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...RAMS-road.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailUK Be interested in any views on this. Social media is coming out in favour of the bloke who had his motorbike stolen, but he's doing a 10 year stretch. My view - sentence much too long. He's being published partly for failures of the police whom everyone knows stood virtually zero chance of recovering the bike. If lucky, he'd have been given a crime number and that's it
If he'd been in Romania he'd be hailed as a hero...and rightly so. The police would've done **** all if he'd called them. What did they expect him to do, watch the wee ****s drive away with his property and do nothing? I certainly would have gave chase if the opportunity arose. The police know that they are on a hiding with this, which is why they are peddling stories about his "mindless actions" "The messages prompted the police to respond, urging people to treat Mr Molloy's grieving family with respect" - they wouldn't have been grieving if the scroat had kept his theiving hands to himself. He'll be out in five years, still too long IMO. I wonder what sentence he would have received had he been British.......
10 years does seem an awful long time but then I think that about the punishment for a lot of crimes. I guess he’ll be out sooner but still his life is pretty ****ed. Assuming he does five or six that’s probably about right. Then again I wouldn’t argue against 1-2 years either. You know though there’s a pretty good chance you’re killing someone when you make that move which I guess makes it worse than if a car was chasing another car.
