It’s pretty stupid using the phrase or similar on a public forum. You can’t have a private conversation on a public forum. If you used language like that in the tea room at work & were overheard then it’s only right you should be investigated if people take offence.

Because you were guessing despite stating, quite clearly “No one has asked the person he addressed the remarks to if he was offended.” This was, at best, a guess.

You have no idea if anybody has asked him or not. I’ve not suggested whether he’s been asked or not, just that your statement was a guess.
