Another moron educated at Cambridge University.

Wasted his time spending his life devoted to the subject clearly, only to become a tin foil looney...

Nothing to see here. Problem is for all these people quoting WHO, Government, BBC, there is a swell of anger developing within the scientific community. A lot of this goes against the very principles of disease control 101. So they don't like having spent their whole life devoted to it, only to have some moron who watches the BBC tell them they don't know what they are talking about. They kinda do. We've already had the Great Barrington declaration, which has been mysteriously kiboshed by the media.

People are more intelligent than just to follow these tools over a cliff like a lemming.
Mate you have fallen well and truly down the wormhole. Take a look at the source you have just quoted, who is behind it and what their aims are. Summit News is far right extremist site prone to promote conspiracy theories and run by a previous editor of Infowars. Just have a look at some of the other articles on there

If you want serious stuff on Covid check the various medical and microbiological scientific journals. There are a load of peer reviewed articles there.

And by the way your figures on deaths from pneumonia and influenza are way out based on the ONS statistics for the whole of the UK. As an example the combined male and female deaths in the UK from the two illnesses were just over 30000 in 2017. The figures you quote for England and Wales indicate over 56000.

" Another moron educated at Cambridge University "

I'll ask both my moronic daughters, they were both educated at Cambridge University so they're bound to know a canny few.

I'm sure they are very intelligent Jimi. Just like this guy. But he is easily dismissed apparently. Its Imperial College guys or nothing for some...

I'm not sure why it would matter what the source is to be honest? The relevance is you have a very intelligent well qualified person using his medical standing to give a perspective on the current 'pandemic'. To dismiss him simply because he is erring from the script. Perhaps this website are the only one willing to hear him? Its a big problem at present isn't it.

If he hasn't said these things, or doesn't have that credibility he appears to then that's a different matter. I haven't fallen down a wormhole mate. I'm simply not stupid enough to sit and just accept one version. The scientific community is huge.

As I say you only have to look at The Great Barrington declaration to see what's going on with the media etc. I'm sorry if you think this is all ok, but I think people are sleepwalking. Why can't there be an open debate? Why do we need censor all these experts simply because they don't fit with the populous movement? We haven't made the scientific progress we have by simply cutting off anyone is not with the programme. Its dangerous.

As for who funds things, I suppose you think Bill Gates is just a nice honest guy who has the worlds well being at heart...<laugh>

Ahh, the Conspiracy Leader response. I've picked my expert and he's better than your expert because I like what he says.

Reminds me of a Goodies episode where they were trying to find ways to sell string and came up with a survey result saying 9 out of 10 doctors would recommend eating string. When queried by 2 of the 3 Goodies the third Goodie said something to the effect of "you want to see the 9 doctors who recommended it." with a raising of the eyebrows.

Quote from Talk Radio.

"Dr Mike Yeadon, a vocal critic of the lockdown measures has called to see “what is the underlying evidence” that the United Kingdom is heading for a second wave, he claims that “When you look at the data… at most we’re in a second ripple.”"

From Government website.

"Deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate
Weekly 2,225 Weekly number of deaths where COVID-19 is mentioned as a cause on the death certificate, registered during the week ending Friday, 6 November 2020.
Total
63,873"

Hardly a ripple.

Too many people concerned about "me, me, me" as opposed to "us, us, us."

Ah the predictable classic guilting technique of the stupid. You're selfish if you don't do what we do. You're selfish if you question things. Why won't you just join us over this cliff...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

You keep quoting figures based on dodgy testing. Its irrelevant. The PCR test is not fit for purpose.

This reminds of that classic computer games Lemmings.

Ha ha, according to the latest breaking news, people shopping in supermarkets are the biggest transmitter of the virus in the UK! Not golf courses! Bastards! <grr>

You can play golf in Scotland buddy <cheers>

I know quite a few lads who have been up to Berwick etc. I mean it would be questionable if you should be travelling there but they've had no issues.

Here is another thing that crazy conspiracy theorist Dr Mike Yeadon was saying as well. Man he is crazy.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...ne-covid-despite-never-having-infected-study/
The bloke was lead scientist at Pfizer for years his job was literally to do with respiratory diseases and he isn’t denying there isn’t COVID. He is saying it peaked in Spring hence the huge number of deaths but it swept through most of the susceptible population and a lot of people already had prior immunity from other coronavirus. The problem we have are scientists not wanting to hear anything other than we are doomed. they were even denying a basic scientific fact that people could and will become immune, which has now shown from a huge study to be correct.
Nobody is denying it isn’t here and it’s is killing people but what he is saying is that these deaths that are being put down as COVID may well not be COVID due to the failings of the PCR test. Nobody will say what the false positive rate is for PCR.

Mate you're in rabbithole. You're in a wormhole. You've gone mad. You're a conspiracy theorist. You're just being selfish <laugh><laugh><laugh> Have I missed any?

I don't know why we have this going on. I find it hard to believe these scientists are all complicit in some big conspiracy theory. I have no idea which side is right but certainly the likes of Yeadon are making more sense. Certainly we need to open the debate and hear all experts, not just a chosen few. The one thing we do know in medical and scientific research, the more brilliant brains working on it the better.

The guy who invented the PCR test was quite clear about its failings when you use incorrectly. He knows better than any of these so called experts, he did win a nobel prize for it afterall. Its important not to fall into the trap of simply saying the PCR test is crap. Or the PCR cannot work at all. There has been some very unscrupulous use of his comments to suggest that he said the test was not useful. Its not the case at all. It can work, its a very important test, but how its used is also very important. No amount of paid fact checkers can erode that either. It is important to note that the effectiveness of the testing works both ways too. Maybe that's a case of us rushing to get a way to test?

The concern of why the antibody test was pushed so hard is more difficult to justify. These experts knew that was not our most important indicator in terms of our immune system. Its science 101 stuff so why were they doing that? They know full well T-cells are what is important in understanding our immune system. Again I have no idea why.

I'm not for a moment suggesting COVID isn't a real thing, just as many of these scientists are not. What they and many other people are asking for is for the debate to be an open and honest one. Its just not good enough to keep dismissing different opinions that don't fit the narrative. Its dangerous and fairly stupid. Until that is the case I'm just not interested in following their bullshit rules or taking vaccines that have been rushed through testing. That goes against everything we've been doing in regards to vaccine testing to make them safe. Given the previously stringent testing that required up to 8 years to make it to market have paid out 11 billion in compensation for causing damage such autism etc, I can't understand why people would think one rushed through in a few months is gonna be ok. I get people dying is very sad, I would hope no one is wishing that fate on anyone. We shouldn't allow that to lead us to blinded and follow dodgy science like lemmings though.

The source makes all the difference. Science is not advanced by publishing on a far-right funded website but by publishing in peer reviewed journals, so that you generate discussion among your peers and demonstration that the conclusions you have arrived at are supported by genuine data.

There are too many people who use the internet as a tool to support their opinions by quoting other peoples views that support them without looking at basic facts. You just did it with the deaths from pneumonia and flu. If you had downloaded the data from the ONS you would have seen that what you had quoted was wrong.

People are doing that on both sides of the argument though in regards to let’s lockdown harder or open up. For example Dr Hillary on GMB the other day said 600 people have died of COVID in the last 24 hours when that was not true those 600 were from not just those 24 hrs but also previous dates. It was used by him to scare people. This for me is one of my biggest worries they have made most of the public scared ****less. You have people driving cars by themselves with masks on and walking alone with them on as if the virus would jump out at them. Children’s mental health is suffering. I have 2 kids and my daughter is 9 and is autistic. She coped well in the first lockdown as it was summer and you could go out into the garden play in the paddling pool etc but now she is finding it hard. the amount of people who have missed cancer screenings or getting their heart etc checked these will all become people who will lose their lives not now but in months or years as they missed their life saving treatment.
we need to hear other scientists not just the ones that want us to lockdown as their main focus is not loosing people to covid but they don’t seem to worry about the other issues that’s just up to the government. And peer review by the way there are many papers that have been blocked from being peer reviewed as it doesn’t follow the global path line. One is a huge study in Denmark by established scientists that showed masks don’t do much to stop the spread of anything. It was deliberately ignored and blocked from being peer reviewed.
I am not a covid denier and not anti vax as I would be more than happy to take a vaccine but I just thing the response to this pandemic will eventually cause more harm than good and we will all look back at it and say it wasn’t the correct response.

I just don't see how it changes what the guy has said, or whether his credentials are valid?

Peer review is certainly the standard way. What happens though when you have credentials, but you can't get your paper or study reviewed because its not fitting with the standard narrative? For instance the study into masks from Denmark, the only of its kind so you'd think people would be all over it, was unable to get peer reviewed initially (I believe it now has) because it didn't fit with the narrative. Those scientists were incredulous they were being treat with such contempt. Understandably so. So peer reviews are only as useful as those who are controlling them and how transparent they are. I believe this mask study shows the impact of masks to be incredibly minimal at best. Thus correlating with what that guy says. Yet the rhetoric worldwide at the moment is, don't wear a mask, you're just killing people unnecessarily. They haven't done a study to prove that masks work, they've just decided they do. So I find it bizarre that people accept one theory based on someone saying "this is so" but then dismiss another because its not mainstream, but has gone to the trouble of doing an actual scientific study?

As I say I have no problem with COVID being a real thing, but if people can't see what is happening with regard to control of narrative via media, sections of the scientific community not being willing to listen any view point except their own, and they don't think thats a problem, they are clearly too stupid to understand the danger of that. People keep talking about the danger of social media, the danger of the internet and plastic scientists. I myself think that is a huge problem. However to pretend there is not a bigger issue which overrides all of this with those owning the media and thus controlling what people to believe to be true, is just blinkered beyond belief.

I always find it interesting that people on here and elsewhere quickly jump to the conspiracy theorist tag if someone disagrees with the mainstream. It becomes a thing of ridicule. If one thing we've learnt in the history of mankind, its this kind of blinkered view often ends up being the real point of ridicule. The earth was flat because the mainstream at the time said so. No other theory would be accepted. This just repeats over and over, mankind never seems to learn. Its an in-built arrogance in us sadly. That and ability to just follow no questions asked.
