I think I probably agree with most of what you have written but even if I didn’t our freedom of expression is bound in law.
However my point was that Greg Clarke was right to resign because he made the comments to a Parliamentary Select Committee discussing diversity in football and from the platform of chairman of the FA, (irony-you couldn’t make it up).
I wasn’t offended by anything he said, I actually watched it live and in context and thought he was trying to be supportive to all of the people he represents, whatever gender, creed or colour.
I knew he was in bother as soon as he made the comments because in his position and in that forum they were unacceptable.
Even if they were said a very clumsy way, Clarke will have attended Media training as well as Diversity training and should know better.
