however middle eastern men treat their women like slaves, a lot of African men too and talking to them like ****, i have seen them walk obediently 1 pace behind in supermarkets, yet i don't see anyone berating them, it looks like it's only ok to attack if your white British, i am sick of being told how to speak, think, or what to say, in case someone who loves offending other people could be offended by me. why should i be offended by the sins that rich people inflicted on the world years ago, it didn't involve me i wasn't asked and i refuse to feel upset because someone feels offended by what someone says, its life get on with it and why should i have to change what i was taught at school, to appease your views, i am supposed to go against science and biology because you want to be classed as a woman and want me to pretend your a woman because you want to be fluid neutral gender.mother isn't always there to protect you, it's time to grow up and show people you have a pair of balls and allowed to speak your mind, and definitely not resign, as the same people calling for your head will be out next week spitting at police and swearing at them profusely, along with physically attacking anyone who doesn't agree with their warped sense of justice but they will be safe, as they are the wrong type gender colour to feel any wrath. The quicker we cancel this woke culture the better

Everyone has a skin colour. You. Me. Mrs EJK. Bajoul who lives across the road from me. I don’t actually get the point you’re trying to make. The term coloured has a racist connotation because it was specifically used to segregate people.
To me it’s as simple as taking the time to find out how that person wants to be referred to if at all.
I’m sure that you’re exactly the same as me, we try and judge people on who they are as a person, not by the colour of their skin.

I’m going out on a limb here and saying that when he was younger the thoughts of people different in skin colour didn’t factor into the equation. He came from a generation who were told the British civilised the world and they should all be bloody well thankful for it.
Apart from that though he was the one that headed up the inquiry into sexism and racism in the FA. He should really have known that the words he was using weren’t acceptable.

This is a direct lift from his Wiki profile

While FA chairman, Clarke had to lead the organisation's response to allegations of historical sexual abuse in football, and of racism and bullying in relation to the Mark Sampson and Eniola Aluko cases. In October 2017, Clarke announced a "fundamental" review of the FA after admitting it had "lost the trust of the public" following the Mark Sampson scandal.

No one's saying he shouldn't be allowed to earn a living. There's plenty of jobs about he would be suitable for, but to be the head of the Football Association in a progressive country, you need to at least be able to pretend to be progressive.

    You are describing me here.

I was brought up to use the word 'coloured' as calling anybody 'black' was considered to be offensive and insulting.
To make matters worse I'm anti Political Correctness in principal.

As it happens I've also always been a suporter of what the Americans call Civil Rights.
Had I been American, (shudder)' I'd have been there witth Martin Luther King , singing We shall Overcome, with the best of them.
I hate racism in any form and I very much include Religous Intollerence with this.
Yet if I make a slip of the tongue, and use terms I was brought up to consider propper, I get classed as racist.
Were I american I would be a member of their oldest and most respected Civil Rights organisation that has been in existance for over 100 years.
It's called The NAACP or National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

The point I was making was I heard somewhere that coloured people are now supposed to be called black and then I read that people who aren’t black don’t want to be called black because they aren’t black so it comes back to coloured although I haven’t a clue why you need to mention a colour at all.

No one wants to be called coloured. As of maybe 15 years ago. Some people seem to really struggle with that. No one's really sure why.

The accepted term is people of colour. Has been for a few years. Some people really struggle with that. No one's really sure why.

As you say, there often isn't much call to generalise by race, so it shouldn't be too much of a struggle to avoid saying the wrong thing and offending.

It's not as straight forward as white and black. Find out about that person and where they're from. I know for a fact that Muslims in Yorkshire hate being spoken about as black people and the BLM movement. They're Asians and prefer to be referred to as such. I don't want folk living in different countries to refer to me as a white bloke, I want them to know I recognise myself as British...

You don't have to use skin colour at all now when talking about somebody.

Then why are white people constantly labeled racist, if their views don't match that of the people name calling, insult a white person then its oh get on with it, your privileged ect, but when it comes to the name callers every excuse under the sun is brought out to justify their allowed prejudice.

****ing hell Roger there’ a lot of “you’s” and “your’s” in that, have you been reading my mail? <laugh><laugh><laugh>

I think I probably agree with most of what you have written but even if I didn’t our freedom of expression is bound in law.

However my point was that Greg Clarke was right to resign because he made the comments to a Parliamentary Select Committee discussing diversity in football and from the platform of chairman of the FA, (irony-you couldn’t make it up).

I wasn’t offended by anything he said, I actually watched it live and in context and thought he was trying to be supportive to all of the people he represents, whatever gender, creed or colour. I knew he was in bother as soon as he made the comments because in his position and in that forum they were unacceptable.

Even if the comments were made in a very clumsy way, Clarke will have attended Media training as well as Diversity training and should know better.

That point there is the crux of it .Why should i be ashamed for something that happened before i was born and had no control over or agreed with, yet im not allowed to talk about taboo subjects like the atrocities carried out by the Ottoman Empire, Why do i always have to keep quiet, when do i get the chance to be offended.

exactly mate did you watch Erdogan's speech where he urged his Countrymen to reek havoc on Europe wanting revenge for the cartoons, and urging bombings and stabbings in the name of Allah, There was also a little girl aged 4 he brought on stage and said she would make a geat suicide bomber for atrocities cause in the 11 century, mainstream media hide it, and this from a world leader, the problem is we as a nation are being forced to show no emotion or response least we offend

I didn't see it Roger, but I have said for a while that he is currently the biggest threat to world peace and prolonged the hostilities in Syria by many months with his treatment of the Kurds.
