Riyad Mahrez started at St Mirren when he arrived in this country. He turned up for training one day, but he was fed up with the cold, so he stole a bike and rode to the railway station, never to be seen in Paisley again !SMFC? Maybe they’re going after St Mirren Football Club...
Spot on !! For me it was the Agincourt every Thursday evening, mods everywhere.I certainly was, 16 in '66 and having a fine old time.

The Adg in Camberley? Me too. Saw loads of bands there Gino Washington a big favourite, Pink Floyd one of the most memorable. Duke of York pub, the Primo next door (brilliant Juke box) and the 24 hour Little Chef also on the circuit. Big C North Camp and the Harvest Moon Guildford amongst other venues a bit further afield. Not forgetting the London pubs and clubs and summer weekend trips to Bournemouth, Brighton and beyond.Spot on !! For me it was the Agincourt every Thursday evening, mods everywhere.
Yes, the Adg in Camberley. I came from Basingstoke and used to go everywhere to see Gino, he’s still going. Took my wife and kids to see him in Reading a couple of years ago, what A disappointment!! He was on another planet between numbers. Harvest Moon Saturday nights, amazing music, memories forever. The Adg in Camberley? Me too. In 1957 when i moved to Basingstoke the population was about 20,000 and then by the late sixties about 50,000. There’s an excellent facebook page, Basingstoke history. Was Basingstoke a big town back in the 60s? When did it “start” as a London over spill?
Same happened to Andover where I grew up. 17,000 in 1960, 51,000 by 1981.In 1957 when i moved to Basingstoke the population was about 20,000 and then by the late sixties about 50,000. There’s an excellent facebook page, Basingstoke history.

The name Basingstoke is believed to have been derived from the town's position as the outlying, western settlement of Basa's people. The ending -stoke means outlying settlement or possibly refers to a stockade that surrounded the settlement in early medieval times. Basing, now Old Basing, a village 2 miles to the east, is thought to have the same etymology, and was the original Anglo-Saxon settlement of the people led by a tribal chief called "Basa".I’m an Alton lad originally with my Mum having family in Basingstoke, so spent a lot of time there in the 70s. I’m not on Facebook so won’t get to read that. I always thought Old Basing was the “original” Basingstoke.
I wonder if anyone in Basingstoke is considering buying Saints... to bring it back in topic

If only it were so simple,There are two very simple rules in life. Never go north of Oxford and never, ever, ever go east of the Hamble.
Lol ...that last one on my list too.....laminated and with pictures. If only it were so simple,
Never venture north of Southampton.
Look out for loose women outside the camp gates.
Never reside in a country featuring the colour green in its flag.
Avoid eating in restaurants who laminate their menus in plastic
