Morning all. Grey one minute with a light drizzle, then the next blue sky and sunshine. Mme has gone off to her French class for the first time since February. They have moved to a larger room so they can be further apart and all will have to wear masks. I wait to hear how the coffee break will go. I have been entertained watching a red squirrel dashing backwards and forwards between the walnut tree across the road and our garden. He is very industrious and finds the compost in the flower pots ideal for burying the nuts. Each year we have a few mini trees as the walnuts germinate. I have been asked to dig up some beetroot, but looking at the sky will put it off a bit longer. Have a good day whatever you have planned. <ok>
 
Morning all. Currently grey but dry, although some showers expected this afternoon. Mme's French class took place yesterday with the dozen of them sat well apart and all wearing masks. It didn't sound too successful as people couldn't hear what was being said half the time. Still they did have a social gathering for the first time in months and caught up on local news. None of them knew a person who had been stricken with the virus, just second hand news about a single person who gone down with it from one of the larger villages, and two staff from a large supermarket. Mme had a chat to her sister in Watford last night and found out that her eldest granddaughter at University in Coventry had had it and was still in isolation. I am not surprised that they are at the centre of the outbreaks as it happened here when the students returned. Some figures that I have seen suggest that schools and universities are responsible for 60% of all outbreaks in France. I wonder if it is the same in England? Still have a good and safe day whatever you are up to. <ok>

That's my worry up here - my wife and daughter work in the same school and, if something happens there, it's sure to happen here too. They follow all the recommendations - their first jobs when coming home from work are to sanitise, wash their clothes and shower, and we've turned the dining room into an office for them - but it never leaves the back of your mind that it may not be enough. We just have to learn to live with it, and hope we don't die with it.
 
Things have simmered down here, wait and see for how long.

Annoyed there is an Int break, but, maybe good for the squad in general.

Morning all. Grey, with just a few breaks in the cloud, but dry and very mild. Off on a shopping trip to Limoges today. Don't really want to go, but there are things we cannot find locally. A day out means a visit to a bar for some lunch. We haven't been there since February, but it looks as though the measures they have in place should make it safe. We are planning to do as much as possible in the one day so do not have to go again for some time. Have a good day whatever you are doing. <ok>
 
Seeing as the government is expecting a large rise in unemployment it has produced a quiz that is supposed to guide you towards thinking about retraining, and what would be suitable for you.

I did wonder what I might do, so did it to find out what the suggestions might be. Three options gave me a chuckle:
Astronomer
Scaffolder
Dressmaker

I think it is a project designed by 10 year olds at school.

Interesting that Frenchie - amongst my choices were Zookeeper, Veterinary Surgeon, Beekeeper and journalist. If I were young and had to choose all over again I would study Botany or Zoology so it's not that far out.
 
Morning all, just! Been out and about, getting bread, picking beans, and all without letting you know that it is dry, sunny and warm. Showers expected this evening, so have lots that I want to do outside. Have a good day whatever the weather. <ok>

Bit of a wide-ranging mix for me - Aerospace Engineer, Blacksmith and Brewery Worker. Funnily enough, it also recommended that I retrain as a teacher - I'm not sure whether I should take that as an insult or not.<laugh>
 
One gent who took the test received this amongst other suggestions.

I did a similar things in my in between times when I was a teenage hippie.... a the test came up with a job in a record shop.... daft!
