But ask yourself this...Did Grosicki want to stay? He was huffy at the best of times, not knocking his talent, but keeping a player against his will is pointless? My understanding was that Grosicki wanted away?

He was under contract. He’d have been a hell of a lot better than Maddison.

We didn’t get a fair fee. We can go round and round the houses here. Jarrod was proven over 3 seasons in a relatively poor team playing on the wing.

Watkins has had one good season at Brentford and there’s no way there should be that kind of price disparity.

Time will prove who is the better PL prospect as they are now both plying their trade in the PL. my money is on Bowen.

It might not be as much as you wanted, but it wasn't an unfair fee by any stretch

Brentford always have 2-3 players identified for every position. So should they sell a player they have potential signings already identified that fit into their style of play. I can’t remember any Brentford player in recent times going for an inconsiderable amount. They always seem to get a fair fee.
And yet despite all that, they've not played five years out of the last 12 in the PL.... Great system!

Which is terminated by mutual agreement, mutual being the key word here.
Even if we had sold Bowen and kept Grosicki. We’d probably have had enough to stay up. £800k? I’d have happily kept him and let him go for free at the end of the season. Fine margins and calculated risk. The owners got this wrong.

I'm not disagreeing here about Grosicki,he was a decent player. But you've already stated on numerous occasions that McCann was the problem( not entirely disagreeing with that either)...Grosicki may or may not have kept us up,we'll never know.Surely we can agree on that?

The owners or manager wanted to cash in thinking we probably had enough points on the table or they had better options in the pipeline in Scott and Maddison. Scott was injured almost on arrival and Maddison was just simply gash. Then you have the manager that simply refuses to move from 4-3-3 despite not having players available to play in that formation. It was very frustrating.

Will be interesting to see how Maddison does at Charlton. I liked Turbo because like Bowen he could change a game in an instant and on his day was absolutely class. Unfortunately for reasons only he ( or perhaps his agent ) often drifted out of games and simply never got going.

Brentford is exactly the model ehab wants to emulate. Posters on here have said for years we should be copying them. At Xmas if they aren’t challenging they sell a few which is what we did. Trouble is the rest of ours downed tools.
Brentford must have a lot of bonuses etc written into the players contracts to keep them at it.
Ehab is doing it on a shoestring compared to the bees owner tho.

Agreed, think KLP has a higher ceiling too, he's a bit quicker and a touch more skilful. Whether he fulfils his potential is the big question though

Another hungry Tiger with bags of potential from what been seen so far.

Potentially a huge season ahead for the lad.

At the end of the day I’m sure everyone wants what is best for the club both on the field and off it. If that means screwing a club for more coin for a saleable asset - then so be it.

Yup.

The old man always maintained we screwed Mansfield for a certain player back in the 60s although it was a fair wadge at the time by all accounts.
