I learn from friends in France who are (reluctantly) returning to the UK that in the Upper Charente at least the housing ,market has gone potty - Brits are buying everything they can. I tried to explain to our friends what a carcrash the UK is at present, but circumstances have forced their hand. We have really missed our little cottage , and trips to Ile de Re etc, as well as Aigues mortes, and hope we can get there before it becomes too difficult to travel (age, eyesight etc). We cannot live there permanently (comical heating , dodgy sewage system -which we have to replace somehow, very little social life between October and May) but are lucky to be able to think about returning. It's also closer to Portugal - home of son and grandson. They seem very far away just now. Still, we have a picture of him at school wearing his Watford top.
A bit of a lament -sorry , but at least the thing that binds us together (WFC) is in a good place.
