Did you get anything from the dickhead that trashed your old bike?

The driver that side swiped me? No mate. Never heard anything from her again. I emailed a solicitor and they didn't respond so I just moved on. Then it got nicked so I've just let it go. Most important thing is I'm healthy after that, I've had a lump just below my elbow that I can still feel a bit but is going away slowly, no pain thankfully. That bike, though still in good condition, was maybe 7 years old so I was due a new one. Obviously would've been nice to be able to use it as a second bike but you've just got to plough on haven't you. Hopefully I'll have another one in a month or so.

The 7kg range is very specific.
Will need to be rim break and a more top end frame.

the EC frame from Planet X gets good reviews, but as an all round machine is something it isn’t-not a bike for climbing.

Planet X are open mould/generic frames. Not usin FM top end carbon like major brands, the get less stiff over time.

Take a look at Decathlon bikes also. You have 12 months to return if unhappy and a lifetime frame guarantee

I prefer rim to disc, it's just lighter, as you're getting at, and also easier to deal with imo. More of a liability in wet weather though.

I think PX are using the same kind of toray carbon as a lot of the Chinese frames and parts you find on ebay and aliexpress. It's decent and cheap, but as you say will start to lose stiffness. They do have lots of good reviews but I'm just seeing some stuff about the quality of the frames and the business as a whole that's steering me away from them. Still got those bikes on my list though.

There are some very nice deals on Decathlon as well, yes. The b'twin and van rysel bikes have some competitive options. I don't care about brand at all, I just want quality that fits my needs and not to be paying stupid money because the brand has an aggressive marketing / advertising policy and tons of sponsorships.

Didn't know it got nicked too. Guess getting a new bike was in the stars mate.

Big day today. Nice battle out front for the stage win between Martinez, Kamna and Schachman. All the main French contenders fell away and / or off. Roglic and Pogacar blew the GC apart as Bernal popped losing 37 seconds to them.

Had second puncture in just over a week . As i fractured my thumb a couple of weeks ago it is going to be a sod doing another one .
why so many ****ers insist on smashing bottles on paths is beyond me :headbang:

TT getting a bit interesting between Roglic and Pogacar now, yellow jersey could go to either here

Nothing in it now, 4km to go ... Pogacar edging ahead and pulling out a gap

This exactly what the organisers were hoping for by putting this stage today ... high drama, compelling viewing

Wow. Incredible ride from Pogacar, he's smoked the lot and sprinted over the line

That is an amazing ride by Pogacer -Chapeau

PS did you spot all the "**** Dopers" signs on the road <laugh>

Feel so bad for Roglic, he looks like a ghost and I can't imagine he ever thought that would happen in that way. Cruel sport

Whatever special sauce they gave Pog on his porridge this morning has definitely worked, he had jets in his shoes
