I just wonder if he was referring to this William's from Exeter, and expecting that one would be done. I guess if this one goes through today, that might have been the case. William's wasn't in the Exeter Matchday squad at the weekend. I guess as Tickler used to say TWT.
It's not a lie, it's a different player!! You do realise that transfers are complex matters and clubs are not in control of every aspect. It's already been referred to, that Exeter made a later request (after GM statement), for more money, so that is likely to have delayed matters.... No lies, no conspiracy... Sorry if that doesn't fit your anti-GM rhetoric...
Ok, I haven’t heard of Exeter wanting more money, but the way he said it on Saturday, was, fee agreed, medical done, personal terms agreed....so there’s nothing left to do, except wait for Monday & player arrives. So somewhere along the lines, they’ve got crossed.
It sounds like Exeter are attempting to get more money out of city for Williams at the 11th hour , apparently according to Exeter fan's Watford (his pervious club) have a 50% sell on clause.

I'm no fan of McCann, but he really is ****ed if he does and ****ed if he don't with some people, which is unfair.
He could have been a bit less specific on day, fee, wages etc. like " We are hoping to make a signing early next week but I don't want to give any further details" and no harm would have been done. City are uncommunicative at the moment, which isn't helped by the tiff with local media. City need to "control the narrative" better
Me too..... Ehab is at fault for keeping him in post, not GM. Some think GM should have walked..... I'd imagine these people would never walk out of their job.... I find some attitudes unreasonable and puzzling, as they suggest unless GM does what they think is right, he isn't worthy.... You can tell these people have never kicked a ball straight in their lives, but because they got City promoted on football manager, they're experts.... Strange world.....
Why though? If fee and terms agreed and a medical passed, he was only telling the truth, you know the thing everyone always demands on here! Don't see why it's being made such a big deal! He followed it all up by saying he won't name names as things can happen and it looks like he did the right thing as something may have happened! Apparently there is 2 teams in for Williams, us and a-n-other so it sounds like it’s a bit of working one against the other. When it happens it happens, bit like ****.... when **** happens, it happens can’t do a thing about it..... **** me I'm bored today!!!
