Good game and deserved win IMO. We made mistakes but Leeds were absolutely clinical. 4 shots 3 on target 3 goals. it was just one of those games. We did switch up after the break and applied a half press which was more effective than the full press.

I think we were open due to Hendo and TAA playing for fitness. More games and the fluidity will come. Happy that Salah got his hattrick as Mane will be inclined to step up.

Found this analysis of Leeds and how they play will cause many teams problems

He was clearly interfering. If he didn’t run after it the ball goes to the keeper in the area and he picks it up.
I don't think that's what happened. I will watch it again tomorrow. From memory the keeper came well out of his area to intercept the pass that would have gone to Robbo who was in an offside position. Robbo didn't touch the ball, the keeper passed it straight to Mané who lobbed him. Once the keeper's touched the ball Robbo isn't offside.

He’s offside the moment he makes an active movement towards the ball when in an offside position, as he’s influencing the play.

Jones was fantastic, kept it simple and allowed us some control in midfield for the first time in the game.

Please buy Thiago.
Weird innit
I thought Jones had a shocker
As soon as Hendo went off I said to my mate we would concede
Jones to me was at fault massively for their third
Then he did a stupid foul to stop VVD ramming a goal in
And I think VVD was scoring that regardless of where Koch was
Not massively down on the lad
He has to get the minutes in - but wouldn’t have singled him out
Thought Salah was excellent

It's funny how we see things differently. To me he did what was needed in that he kept the ball and made simple passes so that we built the play instead of the direct play that wasn't working.

That's just not right, mate. The goalie isn't making that kick if he isn't reacting to Robbo -in an offside position - going for the ball. The first pen was harsh (no idea why Tyler twittered on about Spurs in the CL final last year though), and the second was as clear as ****. I've now seen Van Djik's second that was disallowed three times. Their defender tripped over Jones imo, Virgil is blocked off by a train of grabbing and shoving in every set piece he goes for nowadays, and the referees do nothing. Someone ****ing trips over going after him (who wouldn't have caught him anyway), and the ref gives a foul.

But well done Leeds - I said I can see them doing a Sheff United this season. Can't see us defending that title though. Robbo apart, the defence is gash. Trent and Jo Go have dragged Virgil down to their level. And Keita.... sigh. Nonetheless, we still missed at least three ****ing sitters, like.

As soon as Hendo went off I said to my mate we would concede
Jones to me was at fault massively for their third As was Windy
Then he did a stupid foul to stop VVD ramming a goal in Not sure he did at all. But you're right that Virgil was scoring it anyway.

Really Don't understand how you can say that about Jones when he did more in 25 minutes than Keita did in an hour. He simply stank.

Salah of two seasons ago, and Mane good too, but wayward finishing . Bobby seems to have Anfielditis.

Yeah really lol

Bobby should defo have scored that one in the last 10.

Cant say i am not worried, cause, well its me but stand by what i said
Its a marathon not a sprint and we have 3 points

The next two games however....

What a strange game that was. We probably should have scored eight but it was back to rock n roll football....We got the win and will help with our fitness levels but some players will need to improve massively or there will be losses....This set of players could do with a couple of signings to keep them on their toes imo...

It’s vital to kick start the campaign with a few wins, no matter how we get them, with the hope of us finding rhythm in the coming weeks

how good was Salah last night? He looks like a man on a mission. I think he was underrated last season, and the lack of praise and accolades got to him.

Fabinho needs to come back in, and I would also bring in Matip and Taki for Joe and bobby. Gomez really looks like a shadow of himself and it’s disrupting us. Bobby is bobby - great off the ball but so inconsistent on the ball.

Can't see City struggling against Leeds they'll tonk them.

Actually how leeds play is the exact team that gives City problems. i think whilst we should have beaten them more comfortably, they are a good team and it is more of a credit to the work done by Bielsa.

We played no different to the Norwich game last season. Difference is Leeds managed to score with all 3 of their shots. Good wake up call but nothing to be worried about
