Because he was about 5yrds offside and continued to make movement towards the ball forcing the keeper to play it first time.
He wasn't. The offside rule seems to keep changing. Even if he was in an offside position, he didn't touch the ball. Is this an offence?
I just checked - being in an offside position isn't an offence on its own. If you're interfering with an opponent or gaining an advantage then it is but he did neither.
Exactly. You can't decide Robbo was offside just because their keeper didn't like how his pass turned out.
https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-11---offside He didn't interfere with the keeper playing the ball. It was just a crap pass. Not in the rules.
I agree with Tobes, I know this rare, by running at the ball Robertson brought the keeper into play and his clearance gave Mane the scoring opportunity from the clearance.
Abject nonsense. He was clearly offside as he was clearly interfering with play, if he’s not there, the keeper doesn’t have to make that rushed clearance.
It wasn't a rushed clearance. He didn't put the ball out of play or try to, he tried to start a counter and failed.
They play possession football, he was never going to just boot it out if play but had Robbo not been closing him down (from a offside starting point) he'd have taken a touch and passed it out
