Why are holiday makers returning from, for example Greek Islands,"asked" to self isolate and not "told" to self isolate?
So far this year, there have been 24,285 deaths in Wales, which is 2,067 (9.3%) more than the five-year average; of these, 2,562 deaths (10.5%) mentioned Covid-19 The mortality figures up to the end of July show the peak in April and May. But in July, coronavirus did not even feature in the leading 10 causes of deaths in Wales, which was topped by heart disease Wales has one of the lowest mortality rates for coronavirus during the pandemic so far, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS). London had the highest with 143.3. At a local level Cardiff has the highest mortality rate in Wales....................
I was working near Ellesmere Port yesterday and the flights coming into John Lennon airport was a constant stream mostly Ryan Air , obviously I couldn't say at what capacity but replicate that volume across the country and having a fair idea of the mindset of the young then its likely we're heading for another lockdown and this time its unlikely the Government will have the resources to replicate the funds which were available earlier this year . Why can't people just suck it up and stay home for this year or is that too simplistic of me
Nope. Some of my work colleagues are “desperate” to get away. I argued your point - forget about 2020 and spend double next year (not necessary double but you get the drift) but there’s no telling some people. Feel sorry for folks with no green space to escape to, but agreed Matthew. Chalk-off 2020, start again next year
I know I've written this year off , yes maybe I'm lucky not to have been pressured etc but in the grand scheme of things why risk yourself and others ( well may not others in some eyes ) .I'm lucky to have garden , more than enough green spaces and places to visit locally and safely so what it must have been like during lockdown in a 10 floor flat with just a balcony I wouldn't care to imagine but no ones miles away from the same vistas as the majority of us experience , even parks can be enjoyed as if you're in the middle of no where . We had a med cruise booked for May , cancelled obviously but even now I don't feel the inclination to set sail not for quite awhile .
This is a grim year indeed well worth chalking off, I will be off this forum for a while as things have taken a sudden turn for the worst and I have been caught up in all this Covid-19 Bullshit with my dear wife's health, so it's Au revoir for now...............
