You know sometimes I get the distinct feeling that he is trying to stir up trouble, or am I mistaken and he really trying to heal a broken society?

He knows exactly what he’s doing. The more chaos violence and mayhem on the streets, the more he can portray himself as the Law and Order candidate; if that means encouraging his supporters to ride around in pick-up trucks taking pot shots at demonstrators, he won’t hesitate to do that.

It is also is an old illusionists trick - "look over there" nothing to see over here, when nearly 190,000 people have died on his watch.

It’s also bollocks, as he’s the actual current President. This is happening on his watch due to his actions.

Ah but of course it's not his fault is it? it's those nasty people from "CHINA!" but given that everybody in the world had the same warning about covid-19 how come the deaths per million in the USA are 565 and similarly advanced countries like Germany it's 112 or my country Australia at 26 per million even accounting for our recent 2nd wave in Victoria. He's all bluff and no responsibility, a complete charlatan.

I can't help but feel that the more coverage there is of the minority blm violence and bullying (this is the main coverage nowadays on blm), the more its going to put trump in power. I wouldnt have given him a chance from his coronavirus management with his lies and lack of action but i think people will put more stock into law and order unfortunately

That's the danger Bobby, and even the Liberal talking heads on CNN acknowledge it. Trump and Fox are now putting all their chips on law and order, hoping it will turn into a single-issue, Brexit type election like we had back in December. They're comparing it to Nixon in '68, who played the same card successfully in the midst of national riots, even at the Democratic convention that year.

But there is one big difference, that unfortunately most hicks in the US can't see - Nixon played the card as 'Look at this lawless mess with the Dems in power: I'll put this right'. Trump appears to be saying 'This country is becoming a lawless anarchy under this **** who's in charge. Elect me and I'll put it right'.

Johnson ran his campaign part-time as an opposition candidate and it worked ridiculously successfully with our equivalent of the landlocked states. Still virtually even money for both Biden and Trump which is probably right. If Trump drifts a bit I’ll back it.

Johnson rode the wave of Brexit.

Trump is desperately trying to convince Americans that the current abject mess he’s overseeing is somehow Joe Bidens fault. If the Sherman electorate are actually dumb enough to fall for that, then they’ll get what they deserve.

Hes even trying , astonishingly, to say the Covid mess is Bidens fault.

Must be honest, when I created this thread, I sort of thought it would be a walk in the park for Biden, but in recent days my thoughts have begun to change. Sort of reading what @BobbyD said about law and order is starting to become a big part.

I thought Trump's tactics in Washington DC would back fire on him, using the home guard against his own people. But then a few days ago I watched the Civil Rights movement at the Lincoln Memorial, led by Reverend Al Sharpton, but I just didn't feel his words would be heeded, vote!

Far gone are the days Martin Luther King JR, where the crowds would reach as far has the eye could see, to the days now of Martin Luther King III, and it just didn't pack the same punch with the masses for me, with what I call a gathering of thousands, but no where near the scale MLK JR would draw, and I find that worrying.

When you can see an ARMED young white kid, able to walk down the centre of an American St, into the open welcoming arms of cops, something is dreadfully wrong.

White American Citizens probably out number all the other ethnicity's by 2 to 1, and if the minority don't vote in their masses, white America wins again, but for all the wrong reasons and you might as well just fly a confederate flag above a white hood.

I hope Trump loses, but when the very vocal voice of Reverend Al Sharpton, cannot even stir my confidence, I worry for the outcome of every non white citizen in America.

The key swing states will decide it, and Biden is currently ahead in the larger ones that he needs to win.

I keep reading in the right wing press that Trump has somehow turned it around, but the actual polls don’t seem to reflect that.

Trouble is mate, you know what polls are like, often wrong. I hope you are right, but somehow I'm seeing the shooting of Jason Blake, playing right into the hands of Trump, because of the subsequent rioting. I get their anger, but everytime they smash something up or burn something down, it plays into the hands of right-wing manipulators. The majority just do not like anarchy, regardless of how unjust the shooting may have been, but I guess we will see come three months time.

I think it will be very close run. Biden picked the wrong running mate in Harris, she isn't well liked. It also doesn't help when her own father has come out to castigate her over things she's said in interviews. BLM isn't helping either. There are a growing number of blacks speaking out against the movement. Talking about Americans getting what they deserve, I never thought Trump would win first time around, against all the odds. If he does it again it won't be a shock.

Harris isn’t well liked? On what have you based that assertion?
