I used to walk out the front door, wait until my mother went to work and then sneak in the back door. At one parents evening, my art teacher didnt even know who I was!
My daughter will be going back to year 4 on the 7th. Ultimately her education is paramount, and have to trust the school to have measures in place. I personally wont be meeting up with mates and getting smashed in Leeds as it is not important in the grand scheme of things, but an 8yr old education is
Turns out not many people can afford to just forego income for two weeks so now you’ll get £180 a week (woop woop) if you have to self-isolate as long as you meet a few simple criteria. - you’re in a high risk area - you’re on a low income already - you were born on a Tuesday in July
What’s wrong with that? If you are worried about people, give up some of your wages to help them? The government has done a fab Job with furlough. It’s not an endless pit.
**** sake you’ve woken up stupider today. I’m not saying it’s bad that people will get an (small) income for not being able to work through no fault of their own. It’s the limited number of people who in reality will be able to access it and I expect the hoops they’ll have to jump through and time they’ll have to spend to get it. Plenty have fallen through the cracks of furlough too.
Sadly you can’t help everyone. I have many friends that have ‘fallen through the cracks’ I have also heard of people abusing the system. However, if you had watched the news on Monday they had a report on those who have benefited from it. I was quit surprised the amount of people who have been grateful. I know you don’t like to hear or accept positive government news( that’s the way you are) but furlough has been one of the positives to come out of the pandemic.
Yep. People are grateful for socialism when they suddenly need it and you can help everyone if you want to. Obviously people are happy to not lose their job or have some money coming in. What a surprise that must have been to hear.
Don’t bore me with the socialism debate. If it wasn’t for the money coming in we wouldn’t have been able to help people. You have benefited from it .. nice house/car/job/money/designer trainers. If we had gone down the socialist route You would be in a grey tower block riding a bicycle/working in a factory wear a grey jumpsuit.
The problem with this are that many of these people are on zero hours contracts and so if they take the money and self isolate for 10-14 days...their job will be given to someone else, who is there at the time and able to do the shift...so no job to come back to. If I was on low income and told to self isolate, and not actually ill....I would ignore it and carry on and not risk losing my longterm income. I am sure I am not the only one who would do that either
Okay I am not being pedantic here but The latest news has mentioned the Track and trace and although they missed the 80% ( I believe it was 76%) Baroness ‘what’s her face’ described it as a ‘milestone’ the reporter said local areas up to 95%. So going back to my post yesterday.... I did hear it clearly and didn’t dream it up. It is getting better. And the other good news is we have had an 8% drop in Covid cases the lowest since July. Maybe the governments quarantine rules are working?
If we lose our first ten games I look forward to you congratulating Warburton on achieving a 0-0 draw in the eleventh. For this analogy to really work though we’d have to have spent the Eze money on a one-legged man who hasn’t watched a game of football before.
Watford I said the T&T was getting better and it is. I didn’t say it was perfect Or World beating? Data released today says it’s getting better. I have my answer.
Her name is Baroness Dido Harding,Ellers and she said (her words in italics) The latest data shows that contact tracers reached just under 80% of people referred to the system after a positive test, and just under 80% of those provided recent contacts. ( So 80% of 80% is actually 64%....so 64% of people refered to the system provided contact details) Of the 19,150 people who were identified as recent close contacts of infected people, 72% were reached , down from 76% in the previous week. (So 72% were reached and that is of 64% who said they had close recent contacts is 46%) So she admits that less than half the contacts are reached, the devil is in the detail. I also have said, that there is no check on whether those people self isolate or not, BUT THERE IS GOOD NEWS. Although our numbers are slowly rising in France and especially Spain the infection numbers are rising far too fast
Beth our numbers are falling? It’s splashed all over the news. The weekly number of Covid cases has fallen. Not me I’m just reading from SkyNews
Ellers thay are not Government web site from 5 minutes ago. https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/ You will see our numbers are slowly rising...but as said above nowhere near as fast as spain or france
Not really because you were comparing my post to failings of the government. I was stating it’s got better... which it has especially in local areas. Although you analogy did make me smile. I'm surprised You didn’t get any likes for it... who you been upsetting?
