I dont think Chelsea have ever built over a few years though, its always quick fix, multiple high transfers.

Its why although they have success, they never achieve dominance
Despite the best efforts of the media to swoon over Lampard for his supposed belief and trust in the youth in building a new Chelsea side - lets just forget the fact that his hands were tied. Soon as they can, they revert to normal service.

not convinced that Hudson-Odoi has fully recovered from his achilles injury plus he is reputed to be on £170kpw .

Similar, if he recovers and recovers well, he looks to be a very promising player, I wouldn't be throwing money at him, but if the right deal was in place?

Hes a gamble that could pay huge

I believed we'd seen the last of this sort of splurging by Chelsea, but obviously not.

Given the managerial merry go round at the club, the managers don't have a vested interest in building a solid foundation, they might as well splurge as regardless as soon as they have a bad run they are out.

They seem to have gone out and bought an entirely new front line plus Chilwell.

Its like championship manager strategy, on one hand they coukd destroy every team 4/5 nil.
On the other they could come up against a mass defence and lose 1 nil every game.

There looks no plan to the signings, just go and buy as many good players as you can and hope it works.

Similar to us when Klopp first arrived. The attacking trio were set well before our defence. Some would argue or midfield still needs work. Just outside everyone ;)

Obviously, they needed defensive players but they might get them too yet

I dont think they've finished, has anybody ever bought a complete new first 11 in one transfer window?

I think ive said before, I teckon he's seen us improve with just a startling front 3 and thinks this is the way to go. Strange it used to be the other way round teams always tried to build from the back.

a fair point. There are still some on here that think that our CL and title winning midfield isn’t strong enough and that we don’t have the depth of squad needed to challenge across all competitions, myself included.

Can't recall what I was attempting to say here but that wasn't it <laugh>

Edit; "just outscore everyone"

I recall reading about a team that did this, either the start of last season or the one before. Obviously not a PL side though

Liverpool have completed the signing of German youngster Melkamu Frauendorf from Hoffenheim, reports say. The 16-year-old midfielder joins the Reds on a scholarship contract having caught the eye of Liverpool scouts.
