Nothing they can do about it until November 3rd. Damnit 3rd November, too many American sites. I've been reading that the polls are closing (cause the whole of America has clearly gone mad) with Biden leading by only 3 points and given Hillary won the popular vote by 2% so that's in the territory of college shenanigans I have a nasty feeling he's going to win again.

Biden needs a a VP who'll swing things his way. If he has any sense, he'll bit the centrist bullet and pick Bernie

...but then we see what centrism tends to do, so he won't

If anything he's the opposite: he's extremely popular with a small number of centrists, and rapidly losing popularity with any potential swing voters

Case in point, a week or two ago the Grauniad ran a piece claiming that the Tories are finding it impossible to find anything that will stick to Starmer, which means he's doing a great job...which is patently bollocks, because not only did the "Starmer dropped charges against Jimmy Saville" Narrative get started within 24 hours of him being appointed Labour leader, and the "Starmer's boring" Narrative is a fixture for PMQs, but it does have to be said De Pfeffel had him bang to rights over his u-turns on schools being safe to reopen a few weeks ago - and how the hell can you be caught bang to rights by Britain's most prolific mass murderer?

Except absolutely none of that is working. They tried it and it died.
Swing voters seem absolutely fine with him.
Most of the right-wing papers ran a story on him being more popular then Bodger today, for example.

Who's slagging him off constantly? The Corbyn fans.

The only people who seem to be happy with Starmer are the FBPE mob - and since they were happy with Jo Swinson, that says all you need to know about their judgment

More than anything, this holes the FBPE mob's main arguments below the waterline: for years they said that Labour would have a 10+ point lead in the polls if they replaced Corbyn with whichever centrist they were lionising that week, and yet the reality is that Starmer's 8 points back on the Tories even after the Tories have spent several months either letting thousands die due to their incompetence or lining their own pockets with their corruption in full view and yet not a single thing is done about it

...and before you say that the polls are meaningless, the fact the one thing the FBPE mob were using to beat anyone to the left of them (such as Ted Heath...) is kicking the crap out of their boy is a quite delicious irony due to the amount of denial they're having to go into

Starmer's polling ahead of Johnson. The Labour Party are still behind, due to the baggage of Corbyn.
He was wildly unpopular and it will take some time to undo the damage that has been done to the party's image.

The fact that the Lib Dems' numbers have dropped by a third yet there hasn't been a bump in Labour's should be setting alarm bells ringing, as that means one of three things: that 1/3 of the Lib Dem voter base committed ritualistic suicide when Jo Swinson failed to become PM after saying that she would - or, because there;s no such thing as a Lib Dem voter base, it means that either they're evenly distributed between the Tories and Labour post-election, or have drifted to Labour which would mean there's been a drop in their core vote. In other words, either there's been a drop in core Labour numbers post-Starmer, or the Guardian might want to replace sudoku with seppuku

It's very early days and both Labour and the party's leader are polling better than they were.
Corbynites seem obsessed with getting revenge and undermining anyone that might actually challenge the Tories.
It's ludicrous stuff.

They're polling exactly the same, even after a sizable drop in voting intention for the Lib Dems, which goes against every single Narrative that was trotted out on a constant basis for years - to the point where the Guardian are having the delude themselves via their readership (or what's left of it) that Starmer's made of teflon and nothing sticks to him when there's already two things that are being pinned to him - and not by the Corbyn supporters, but everyone else

Also, there's a reason why I called Starmer toxic: in the last few weeks he has not only completely ignored how Dawn Butler had to close her constituency office due to receiving racist abuse and now is trying to find any excuse to sweep the treatment several staffers were happy to mete out to Diane Abbott under the rug

As for undermining anyone who might challenge the Tories, Starmer is in no position to do that considering what's in the Labour Leaks reports, not least the funneling funds that was supposed to be used to fight for marginal seats into Labour safe seats in the 2017 election, staffers tipping off journalists about Abbott crying in a toilet so they could run a hit piece on her, and both staffers and MPs bullying people - which includes Wes Streeting and Jonathan Ashworth who have places in the Shadow Cabinet, Ashworth as Shadow Health whose wife was also one of the main plotters undermining the party at every turn

This is why Stamer is toxic: he's actually guilty of the purges that Corbyn was repeatedly accused of but never actually did, meaning the Shadow Cabinet is as filled with compliant numpties as the Tory front bench

The "Starmer is toxic" narrative simply doesn't exist outside of small pockets on social media.
As I said earlier and as you're pointing out well with this comment, it's Corbyn loyalists attempting to blame him for anything and everything.
It has had virtually no impact on the general public.
