Gordon Onuoha, Bramble, Mensah, Bardo Henderson, Steed, Muntari, Richardson, Sessegnon Asamoah the Man Mig; Angeleri; Anton; Riveros; Al; Zenden; Noble For me when fit, Big John has to play. He adds calmness and authority at the back and although he looked a little ring rusty v Stoke, his game midweek will have helped blow some cobwebs away. I'd like to see the Ghana backbone of Mensah, Muntari and Gyan play from the start and a 4-5-1 formation with the brand new Kieran Richardson continuing his incredible goal scoring form of late. Spurs will offer a much higher standard of footballing entertainment than the kick it high and rush style of Stoke and funnily enough, that will suit our game much better IMO. We have had 2 straight defeats in our last 2 games and if we are to really claim to be a top 6/7, or even top half club, then this is a game we must look to win. We need 3 points as Liverpool play the hapless Wigan at Anfield and are a certainty to get all 3 points. Still feeling possitive and still dusting off the passport in the Cest household
Team looks great. Spurs will come and attack us, and i'm hoping this will give Sess some freedom to do his thing without fear of being halved everytime like he was of them cloggers last weak. Spurs are a great, entertaining side, this will be a great entertaining game, i don't see us losing 3 in a row, so i'm gonna boldly go 3-1, again! Now the Bent saga has gone, i wish Spurs all the best, whatever we think of twitch, he's assembled a superb team, that is at times a joy to watch.
In think its a little harsh on a young boy who has been asked to do a mans job in the absence of any alternatives all season. Our squad has been ravaged by injury and Jordan is a young man who loves Sunderland and has just been caught out a little at times. Playing him at right wing will give him more time and less responsibility to concentrate on delivering good crosses, something I think he is exceptionally good at personally. In an ideal world, Cana would have stayed this season, Meyler wouldn't have got injured again so quickly and Catts wouldn't be sidelined. Muntari will be a big central midfield player for the rest of the campaign and Jordan could be rested or played wider. Give a die hard local lad a chance kidda. He's not a bad player.
I agree, he's not a bad player (Kuqi ), but he has been awful. Truly awful. He needs to be dropped. Elmo on the RW, is, IMO, a much much better choice, he takes players on, can hit a ball past the first man and puts his foot in when neccessary. It doesn't matter how much heart you have for the club, if you're playing terrible, you can't carry on starting. See Whitehead.
I guess we will have to just agree to disagree with that one kidda. I would rather play my old mother than Muhammady, as she would have better control, dribbling and a better final ball as well. Muhammady is the epitome of the headless chicken and way out of his depth in the EPL. I sometimes wonder if he is realted to Guttierez at times. In an ideal world where we had no injuries, I'd certainly give Jordan a rest on the bench but we are stretched currently and he would play for me. I agree also that he isn't a natural central midfielder (IMO) as he lacks the the ability to tackle and distribute the ball but I have watched the lad since he was a youth team player, into the reserves and now the first team and in all that time he was a scintillating wide right player. Thats where he would play for me now Muntari is on board.
I would only like to see Jordan play as long as he is on the right;I like the lad a lot and don't want to see him burned out.
I think Muntari gives us better options to play the ball out from the back instead of Gordon thumping it up towards Elmo. We need some variation in our play. It was too predictable against Chelsea. Even if Elmo wins his header there's no guarantee we will get the second ball. As for Henderson. I rate him. But he has been asked to do an awful lot in the centre with Catts missing. I think he's better on the right. If only he would have the confidence to shoot when he gets in range...
we need to get away from this hes a local lad therefore we cant drop him, give him a chance etc... truth is he has been utter garbage for weeks now. if it was anyone else we would sat here slating him. thats a true fact. hes needs to be dropped if we are goinbg to progress
Honestly? I've always though Elmo has been top notch when he plays, at least he runs past the man. How many times have we seen him win header after header in the air? The lads class, a cert for me in the summer, since we have first refusal, should be no problem I'm on a fixing run today.
And lo the voice of reason and calmness descended upon the earth. Its got nowt to do with the fact he is from Sunderland, although in my book its a massive bonus but its because the lad is a canny footballer too. He is only 50 games into his career in the top flight and learning the game as well as the league. To say he is utter garbage shows your uncanny ability to be as thick as a 10 day old custard skin when commenting about football. The lad is as close to being garbage as you are to being an inside spokesman for the club. I dare bet all the 'stars' you knock about with love your little incites into top flight football Chris. They must hang on your every word - like **** they do.
fair do's iof you want to amend that. i feel its been weeks rather than months. i do feel the lad has a hint of ability but not anywhere near the original hype that was being banded about. hes being found out quickly and is struggling and we should cash in while the market is massively overestimated
Gotta love BC pulling people on spelling and grammar. As his keyboard clearly has a broken Shift and or CapsLock key(s)
