McCann took the job, he knew what the Allams where about, he would have known about the squad etc.
He took the job knowing the facts, he knew the facts because everyone in football knows how we are run, he would have also spoke to adkins.
He accepted the job knowing all this so ultimately he’s as much to blame as the Allams, he failed to get the best out of the squad. Like Bruce in Europe the team should have done better.

only slutsky can be forgiven for the above

Warnock didn’t even negotiate a wage before he took over. Said to Gibson sort it at the end of the season as he didn’t want to be distracted from the task at hand. Deserves praise in my book

As has been pointed out, maybe a better comparison would be whether Nige would have kept us up. 100% he would, so the general argument remains valid.

As we wouldn't have paid him his demands, which with his record he definitely deserves to demand, the 'general argument' is pointless, isn't it.

Oops, just noticed you said, Nige, not Colin. My bad <doh>

I can’t imagine Adkins would have much chance of keeping up this squad shorn of Bowen and Grosicki. Though I guess he wouldn’t have signed Maddison, so he has that in his favour.

Is Neil Warnock a better manager than McCann - yes.
Does that make McCann the main man to blame for relegation - not necessarily.

McCann was awful. The players were awful, the owners were awful. That's where we are.

As McCann said everyone is to blame but he hasn't got the balls or respect for us to stand up and say sorry. For that alone he isn't a man I respect nor the man to be a leader. And he certainly isn't going to be coaching a team I want to watch.

In this instance whilst all are to blame the blame is proportional.

The biggest bollock is dropped by, you guessed it Papa (for letting his thick offspring anywhere near the club in any capacity).

Next in the 'dropped a bollock' stakes is the thick offspring himself. What an idiot thinking there is another way that hasn't been thought of or tried before, and that he can pull it off. To be honest I don't think he cares that much what division we play in. And to cap it all he appoints a head coach who can't coach. How bad can things get? Well I think there is a lot worse still to come.

Next in the blame stakes is, yes you have guessed, the **** Head Coach and his assistant. Never a coach or manager of any worth in a million years.

And lastly, yes the players must take some responsibility. BUT, have you ever worked for a ****er and thought **** it I'm off? Or been treated disrespectfully by your employer? If you have, you wouldn't be telling the truth if you say you continued giving your all for him/her or the organisation. I am not making excuses for the players merely pointing out organisations reflect the owners values and principles. And eventually the workforce and its product(s) reflect the state of any organisation. The on pitch performances are a natural consequence of playing for an employer and 'his' manager they have little or no respect or value for.

Whilst supporters think players should show and have as much loyalty as themselves it isn't ever going to be the case. It's a job and they'll get another either playing or doing something else. Just like we all have to.

So in the 'who is to blame stakes' I make it :

    Papa Allam 50%
    Vice Chair 30%
**** Head Coach and Assistant 15%
    Players 5% tops.

I think that puts me out of step with the ex pros and possibly a lot if not all contributors to this discussion.

Lots of people know it isn't going to change until they have all gone. All we can wish for it is sooner rather than later. I am not hopeful.

McCann will be here next year and possibly until we have new owners.

I wish I had seen this before sitting down to put my thoughts down. I could have simply liked the post.

Our players knew their wages would be halved? So any lack of effort on the field would have fairly hefty consequences....I'd have been putting my all in to avoid that sort of scenario, wouldn't you?

Adam Lallana has joined Brighton on a three-year deal after his contract with Liverpool expired.

Not if you know you won't be sticking around! Too many out of contract, returning to their parent clubs, or couldn't give a toss given the lack of direction from Terry!

Unfortunately we can’t change the owners. We also can’t change the the players with ten or fifteen games to go but what we could have changed was the manager.
The players stopped believing in terry and his methods in February. It was plain to see how quickly heads would go down. Now we can give it all the theyre pro’s they should die for the shirt etc etc but players have always done this when things aren’t right. it’s not good but it has happened at all clubs at some point.
the only thing an owner can do is change the manager. Smug **** thought he knew better and would stick with his plan of a new way of running a football club and team.
    He’s a ****.
Terrys back room team should have had the balls to say To him boss we need to do something different it’s not working and also telling him the players aren’t happy. Makes you wonder if Irvine and lichaj did that and that as why they were let go.
Colin or nige would have come in and lifted the place and got them going again.
It’s that simple. We had good players who’s heads had dropped.
