I'm surprised so many prominent people use Twitter tbh. It must be one of the platforms that gets targeted the most by hackers. I bet there's a ton of **** folk have said on there that they think will remain private, only to go boom when some spotty Russian kid blows open the firewall.
Just some poxy bitcoin scammers that lasted about an hour and got a couple of quid for a few bogus tweets offering free money.
Anyone who fell for it is an absolute bell end and shouldn’t be allowed out unaccompanied.

It's not weird, Twitter have atrocious security, its constantly hacked.

Its sorta not how it works, you can pull anyones login details by hacking into the site.
Quite often passwords are attained through data breaches. Some services it happens constantly, twitter, and others ala Facebook it does not.
Playstation network faced a data breach that pulled thousands of bank details from their service.
Having a complex password is baby security to stop people you know accessing your account, not a person educated in computers.
They’ve not said the entire site was compromised though smart arse, just a handful of high profile accounts were hacked and bogus tweets placed.

A large collection of accounts, only ones flagged as "verified" on Twitters platform ranging from Bill Gates to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were entered at the exact same time, posted the exact same post with sometimes a slightly different wording and within the same hour every single post was deleted and all accounts flagged as verified locked.
It was a data breach, all passwords were pulled and using a script they went through every single account and posted a copy and pasted message containing a link. A 55 long digit password in Arabic does nothing against a data breach, Twitter has shoddy security. It has nothing to do with your username and password.
Literally any site can be hacked just ask the Pentagon, all any operator can do or be expected to do, is to minimise the risk in order to help protect its users data. Twitter is just a free to use social media site, they sent a few bogus tweets and bagged about 80 large from ****ing idiots. Who cares.

I can safely say I deleted my twitter many moons ago. I think that site is proper ****e.
