I’ve got a horrible suspicion we are gonna get passed around like a cheap brass amongst a whole table of misfit owners, like Portsmouth and Charlton.
There’s not realistic prospect of a wealthy and visionary group coming in while we are at this level, not with the enormous running costs and the clear ill blood between the fan base and the club in its entirety.
Make no mistake the absolute **** shower will take tens of millions, instantly to just stem the tide, let alone turn it, we are in this for the long haul and we gonna have some torrid days before there’s an uplift.
I only hope and pray some mad bastard somewhere watches the documentary and spots the potential, it could be something as leftfield as that that saves us.
We all know with vision and nous the club could be a goldmine, who will brave it?
The other thing is, say we somehow got FFP through the doors, how long before they get pelters for not spending £30million in League One? There’s a balancing act for a supreme businessman to come in, there’s no easy way out of this league now as the calibre of the players, and the manager are at best second rate.
We’ve no young lads close to breaking through, the fan base is flat as an uncooked loaf, and the city is falling out of love with the club.
I guess it’s down to us to keep the spirit in the club but ****ing hell its hard. I’m seeing lads who’ve had season cards since the 80’s chucking it in and I’m gutted for them, I love this club and always will but I can’t see any appeal right now, I can’t see anyone in their right mind taking a swing, short of more blaggers hoping to ride off with a naughty little profit.
It would take 40,000 of us putting 2.5 grand in to raise £100million. Is that impossible? Could we try and start a motion? **** knows man.
I’d chuck 5 grand in tomorrow if I thought it was achievable.
