Weirdest online purchase during lockdown

Bought a hotbin.

Not sure if I read what it was first, turns out it's probably the most expensive compost bin you can buy.

I have one of those. And I set up a local project to get them into communal spaces so that folk can compost packaging.

Cornwall Council have backed my project and are offering one called a Green Johanna at massively subsided prices £30 instead of £200

Sounds like an excellent thing to have set up.

I wish I'd paid £30 instead of £200 for what is really just a giant insulated box.

If it really eats all the food, garden waste and cardboard packaging then it will be worth it, at the moment I have my doubts.

Considered a used 11.5 degree head but was 'only' saving £50 so **** it, went brand new.

Yeah, the 915.

Was never as good as the 913, could never get it set up quite right. A lot down to me of course but the flight was a bit too low for me.

I’d like to change to 3w and hybrid. Never got on with them. Though am not playing regularly to warrant spending the money.

It’s a good watch golf. Don’t understand what’s not to like. I get why playing isn’t for everyone as it’s hard.

i like golf and the banter that goes with it when playing, but I don’t play enough or practice to get better, so still at the beginner/****e stage.

will defo have lessons when I retire and strive to get better so I enjoy it more

It's an absolute ****er of a game but there is no better feeling than on those few occasions I saunter round thinking it's piss easy.

I found golf to be very addictive.
It properly ****s with your mind more than any other sport/game I've played.
It's very technical yet at the same time you have to not think about the technique, relax and swing freely.
Pre shot routine is key.

I’d say there are a million other key elements. I’m on a golf sabbatical at the moment. I went from playing the best golf I’ve ever played started going round 7-8 shots under my handicap. Won a comp came second twice and third and fourth. Handicap started to come down then bang developed a snap hook with my irons if I hit them or I’d hit them fat. Went to two different pros neither could fix it. Stopped playing . As chief says it’s no fun if you don’t play to somewhere inline with your own expectations. I started again last summer and started to play ok again and played a couple of non competitive rounds about 5 under my handicap then had to stop again as I was studying at weekends and didn’t have time for golf.

Been to the range twice in the last week. I’m striking the ball better though the tendency for a strong draw is still there. They are landing about 10-15 yards left of where I want them to. Then if I adjust my aim I nail them straight it’s a c unt of a game.

Don’t think it’s my stance. I use lining sticks on the range. It’s a hand movement I think in the downswing. Main thing I’m working on is to eliminate the chunks hitting ground behind the ball. So have been doing a drill on the range to get my hips moving to the left . When I do it properly the strike is good and I get a nice soft draw. I look a right twat on the range mind. As I take two different practice swings, one that checks my alignment on the takeaway and one that I push the hips toward target. Just repetition now. I haven’t tried with my longer irons yet. My set up to the ball with long irons is too close as well and I struggle not chunking them. But I’m just working on the strike for now. Once that gets more consistent I will work on the set up.
