The first thing that stands out is the title. Has someone told Boris that Wales, Scotland and NI think hes chatting ****!!
Right Bob...we did over 100,000 tests yesterday, first time since 1st of May....but hang on what does this mean Why have we only tested 65,337 people. So we did 35,000 people more than once. So there is a fiddling of figures here too
I can't see your attachments Beth but didn't they say they need to test people more than once sometimes?
Somebody did say a number of people were getting ‘unclear’ results. So presumably they would have been retested. Though 35,000 is a lot.
So let me clarify as that seems quite important at the moment (clarity) have we done 100,000 daily tests yet.
They did but with a lag for the results then I would find it incredible that they would test 35000 twice in the same day.
I think that’s quite normal. Number of people tested is always well below number of tests. Hancock is having 10000 tests a day on himself and his beanie baby collection to prop the numbers up a bit.
Like everyone else in the population I am reading my way through the 60 page Recovery Plan. Not really sure what is advisory and what is compulsory so far. The vulnerable are advised to self isolate. Those with symptoms must self isolate. I should ‘aim to’ wear a face covering (not a medical face mask) in an enclosed space or on public transport. No new evidence offered for this from what I can see, so either we should have been doing it since day one or the BBC and other media campaign has paid off. Trying to work out the Tory party strategy here.
Curious to know what in the science has changed recently to make face coverings advisable months after foreign science.
Face coverings are and will continue to be ineffective while the vast majority who are at present wearing them are in fact thick as ****. Wearing it in your chin, while smoking a *** or on your mobile phone gives everyone no protection at all.
The tests per day yesterday indicated that 1 in every 3 tests was a retest. This for one of three reasons. 1. These are genuine resamples, when a person was tested once, because they were ill....and then a second to see if they had recovered 2. Because the test did not work the first time (result unclear) 3. Test repeats. (I ran a diagnostic series of tests in which the result was very important for the patient's health, we would only send a result after a retest, to make sure). For any of the above reasons, it means that we are being misled about the tests and to test 100,000 people a day, we need to so 133,000 tests...to do 200,000 people 266,000 tests
Did I hear Boris talking about track and trace. He said that if covid was found in a water supply somewhere then they could spot it! WTF is he on about???? Is it or can it be in our water supply????
