I’ve been slowly working my way through all the alcohol and snacks I can find today. Just enjoying knowing I don’t have work for a few days!

You could argue things aren't fair in any season

I’m sure you could, but it’s much easier in this season given there isn’t a fair way to finish the league!

Bit one thing is very obviously fair and the points difference makes it a fairer outcome than in any other season in history...

Not following you mate, obviously you aren’t suggesting that you lot being top of the table but not having actually won it is a more worthy title win than all the teams who actually won it :bandit:

Nope, I was suggesting the league title is a foregone conclusion and we have a bigger points gap than anyone as ever had before (although that may only be PL history).

League concluded or not, there is zero dispute over who are this year's PL champions!

If the season is curtailed, do United still get to keep their VAR trophy as the team most assisted by decisions? Will it be worked out on averages, or just simply where the clubs are now?

    https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/big-six-view-premier-league-22004711

Sad it's all coming to this, but if we start next season in August/September behind closed doors anyway, we'll know how ****ing bogus this is . As said, the clue is in the name - 2019/20 season: we have until December, if necessary, to complete it. But if the bottom six want the French solution or PPG imposed upon them, so be it - seems from this report and others that the FA, who do have final say on all football matters in the country (?) , have definitely ruled out no relegation. That was even if they were going to get 14 Prem teams to agree to it anyway.

Be interesting to see what stance UEFA take. They've said they want the nominations in for next seasons competitions if leagues are curtailed by August? Thought I read that somewhere. They're not planning to finish this season's competitions until August themselves, so God knows when next season's CL and UEFA starts. Clear as mud.

European Super League within a decade? Games played in the US, Asia and South America? You youngsters will see that.

I can see how it's in Brighton's interest to be as bloody-minded as possible: if the season is curtailed (it won't be null and voided - that option has been null and voided by UEFA and the FA), then in all the options suggested, they won't be going down. But even if they're genuine (and tbf, if they're still getting players testing positive, why wouldn't they be?), then they've a right to say 'Hang on another month or so'. What I have a problem with is teams and football commentators saying, virtually, it's impossible to start up football again unless we go back to the same conditions we had in February of this year. Oh, but we can kick off again in August behind closed doors - that's okay'.

Brighton (no wins in 10 games) are just saying, "everyone loses £50m if the season is cancelled but we lose £100m if relegated so **** everyone else we'll take our chances bankrupting the football pyramid"

    It won't work <ok>
