Derby need cash and have a set up which can be seen as comparable to ours. I wouldn’t be surprised if there have been conversations with FPP at some stage in the last year or so.
big call there from you, I would think our fans, ground, academy and things connected to the club far outweigh that of derby county

I agree with that, but Derby are only one step away from the silly money of the Premier league, whilst we are two.

You’re right but for them to buy derby because of that then it’s gonna have to be buying the club for twice as much as ours minimum, I believe that with the right manager in place and targeting the correct players to get us out of this **** league and in a position where derby are now won’t cost 40 mil.

That’s why I qualified it with ‘can be seen as’... current league and financial positions aside I am in agreement with you

Yeah I’m not dissing your quote as I think derby are a good club it’s just that I don’t think they’re are comparable to our club and we would be a far better buy.

Didn't Boro have some issues with Derby circumventing spending rules and selling the stadium to themselves for twice its value ...

... I seem to remember Gibson kicking off.

Yeah Mel Morris sold the stadium to another company he owned so he could get around ffp. Think they’ve been charged by efl

It was something along the lines of they flouted ffp over a 3 year period and were -£40 mill in debt......the stadium was valued at around £40 mill but he sold it to one of his companies for £80 mill and then leased it back to Derby for £40 mill so there was a £40mill profit to satisfy ffp.......cheeky (savvy) twat!

The Price of Football podcast is a good way of following the ground sale stories. It looks like a few clubs have tried it in the Championship

For anyone looking for takeover news @wearside wanderer II

Just had a text from a mate who knows Martin Smith.

It confirms what I keep being told.

FPP are very much still interested in a full takeover but only on their terms.

Donald is trying to play it cool but beads of sweat are starting to appear on his large brow.

that sounds like it could be beginning to happen. thanks for the update sir. much appreciated.

They did and being investigated over it , also how Rooney was purchased was being looked info think teams were not happy that their sleeve sponsor some betting company basically had a big hand in the rooney deal
The same betting firm sponsor other teams in the championship and didnt get this kind of help

BET365 pay his wages dont they?

They'll get around it as he's a player manager. Pounds to pennies thay say that something like 90% of his time is spent "managing" the team and therefore only 10% of his wages count towards FFP

I couldn't remember who the betting company was and what the issue was, just remember bet365 also sponsored other clubs and they weren't getting those sort of privileges caused a bit of a stink .
But yeah what you saying is probably right

Yep another loop hole they used which didnt go down well either

He's saying the 'Americans' are still very much interested in a takeover.

The circumstances have to be as they've asked and 'the right people in place'.

You may remember, from many months ago, I was saying 'staff issues' were the sticking point.

Martin Smith apart it's my belief that 'FPP' have criteria they will not budge on ...

... Donald could end this all and just accept facts.
