The new coronavirus appears to linger in the air in crowded spaces or rooms that lack ventilation, researchers found in a study that buttresses the notion that Covid-19 can spread through tiny airborne particles known as aerosols.

At two hospitals in Wuhan, China, researchers found bits of the virus’s genetic material floating in the air of hospital toilets, an indoor space housing large crowds, and rooms where medical staff take off protective gear. The study, published Monday in the journal Nature Research, didn’t seek to establish whether the airborne particles could cause infections.

The question of how readily the new virus can spread through the air has been a matter of debate. The World Health Organization has said the risk is limited to specific circumstances, pointing to an analysis of more than 75,000 cases in China in which no airborne transmission was reported.

etter
i'm sure i saw a graphic showing the effect of someone sneezing in a supermarket aisle and the resultant cloud dispersing and lingering for 4 mins plus.
it seems to me that to wear a mask might be the way forward. but then its so easy for any droplets or virus "aerosols" sticking to the mask to come into contact with your fingers, plus the virus may be able to live on the mask for 8 hours? if it can survive on paper for 8 hours....

mask sprayed with some of trumps disinfectant or even better still disposed of once supplies allow for that.
Who knows? Certainly not me with no knowledge of this sort of thing. I may know something about footie however.

NHS England has recommended health trusts assess Black, Asian and ethnic minority (BAME) workers as "at potentially greater risk" from coronavirus.

The official guidance says UK and international data indicates "people from BAME backgrounds are also being disproportionately affected by COVID-19".

Classic from Russia!!!

A bishop in Russia has advised women to avoid nagging their husbands during the coronavirus lockdown.

Bishop Panteleimon, who is head of the Russian Orthodox Church’s department for charity, was answering questions from viewers during a live YouTube broadcast when one woman asked him how to live in obedience to her husband.

The church official told the woman she should first “stop making comments” to her spouse to avoid creating tension during the Covid-19 lockdown.

He also advised the woman to punish herself if she does make comments by making a promise to God to make 10 bows in the evening, or to not eat chocolate or sit on the internet all day if she does make comments, the Moscow Times reports.

And his colleague Bishop Pantieoff has decreed that to further reduce tension during this challenging time, that females should engage in unconditional coitus with their husband's to show their obedience to god...

The grim high street jobs toll triggered by the coronavirus crisis rose again on Thursday when administrators to Oasis and Warehouse struck a deal to sell them to Hilco Capital, the former owner of HMV.

Sky News understands that Hilco has agreed to buy the two brands, along with Idle Man, and the stock from their hundreds of outlets across the UK.

However, the deal does not include the Oasis and Warehouse Group's stores, meaning that just over 1800 staff at the chains are facing immediate redundancy.
