Just a quick example of another bit of incompetence that even us simple folk on here were crying out for weeks/months ago is the inbound arrivals on flights. Maybe they should have been looking on here!
Did you get the 40K from the Marr show as he said the same as you ( well he was clever and used the word 'could')? Interesting to hear Dominic Raab who was competent in his interview today as well. He didn't fall for any of the trick questions and answered them with confidence. Completely different from his briefings.
I didn’t watch Marr today. It’s a commonly quoted number, probably because it’s the most accurate one we have. I’ll have to take your word for it on Raab’s competence.
No, I have been honest in the past re briefings. He was good today and was on the front foot. I get the impression that Boris return will come with a positive announcement.
Just when you think Sir Keir is putting things right in opposition, one of his shadow ministers claims the Tories are actively trying to murder citizens. Un-****ing-believable. please log in to view this image

I listened to one of the shadow cabinet ministers who basically stated the bloody obvious. No ideas. All Labour are doing is waiting for things to go wrong and say how they wouldn't have done that. A bit like some on here. Sadly they couldn't even win an election because the public didn't trust them. Starmer was having a pretty good week until the news Boris is back and now this.

I hope he does go as he shouldn't say things like that without evidence.[/QUOTE] It must be recent, or fellow Labour MP's wouldn't be turning against him. He should be kicked out of the shadow cabinet, because it demeans his colleagues who are making a better job of things
You have to wonder whether Starmer can't kick the bloke from the shadow cabinet because he's a far left Corbynite, and Starmer is worried about an internal Labour backlash from the militant left
sadly (and if I may use this example) Sometimes I think Labour hasn't changed that much. With the leader, it's like Hitler appointing Goebbels. All part of the previous bunch.
I think the fuss stems from the fact that the government wanted the names of members of the group to remain secret. A previous Chief Medical Officer has stated that there would never have been government advisors at SAGE meetings in his time, and the current CMO seems to have been uncomfortable about Cummings's presence. It should be job of the CMO to report back to the PM on SAGE meetings, not an advisor with no scientific qualifications. More importantly, it calls into question the government's claim to have been led by the scientific advice at all times. Johnson made a speech in early February where he spoke about the danger that the reaction to Coronavirus would "go beyond what is medically rational to the point of doing real and unnecessary economic damage". (I happened to agree with this, but that's by the by). It was around this time that Whitty was talking about herd immunity while the rest of the world was shutting down. It took our government seven more weeks to decide that the rest of the world was right after all. https://bylinetimes.com/2020/04/17/...d-go-its-own-way-seven-weeks-before-lockdown/ Does this not suggest that the government, via Cummings, was leading the science back in February, rather than the other way round?
The fact Starmer was elected first time with over 50% should mean he can make his own decisions, where he might be thwarted is on decisions via the NEC which is still mainly Corbynite...
They were made during the general election. Surprised we've only heard about them now to be honest. Sack him and move on to the important things of the day.
Amazed you lot even bother talking about it when he’s **** enough to be nowhere near the intellectual equal of someone like Raab.
Yeah I wouldn’t have said “murder”. “Kill with ideology”, perhaps. Or “kill with incompetence”. Maybe even “kill with negligence while milking the state for your backers” but not “murder”.
