Just a quick example of another bit of incompetence that even us simple folk on here were crying out for weeks/months ago is the inbound arrivals on flights. Maybe they should have been looking on here!
The official figures aren't accurate anyway, according to a statistician on the radio recently.
Even if 40,000 covid deaths is the latest/final figure, anyone dying who has the virus in their system is being counted as a covid death.
This means that the actual number of people dying from the virus is likely to be much lower.
Any day now, Westminster and the top scientific bods will be contacting not606, asking for the help of all our experts!

Did you get the 40K from the Marr show as he said the same as you ( well he was clever and used the word 'could')?No, it’s not incorrect. It’s a logical estimate based on the total deaths versus previous years and the share of deaths outside of hospital in other countries. That is backing it up.
Certainly closer to the unknown full figure than hiding behind the numbers posted daily by the government.

Interesting to hear Dominic Raab who was competent in his interview today as well. He didn't fall for any of the trick questions and answered them with confidence. Completely different from his briefings.
No, I have been honest in the past re briefings. He was good today and was on the front foot. I get the impression that Boris return will come with a positive announcement.I didn’t watch Marr today. It’s a commonly quoted number, probably because it’s the most accurate one we have. I’ll have to take your word for it on Raab’s competence.
That he has now decided to take it seriously? No, I have been honest in the past re briefings. He was good today and was on the front foot. I get the impression that Boris return will come with a positive announcement.
Murder is a strong word. They should have maybe said 'indirectly kill'.Just when you think Sir Keir is putting things right in opposition, one of his shadow ministers claims the Tories are actively trying to murder citizens. Un-****ing-believable.
I listened to one of the shadow cabinet ministers who basically stated the bloody obvious. No ideas. All Labour are doing is waiting for things to go wrong and say how they wouldn't have done that. A bit like some on here. Sadly they couldn't even win an election because the public didn't trust them. Starmer was having a pretty good week until the news Boris is back and now this.Just when you think Sir Keir is putting things right in opposition, one of his shadow ministers claims the Tories are actively trying to murder citizens. Were these quotes before kier became leader as we are only just hearing about them now or were they before? I hope he does go as he shouldn't say things like that without evidence.[/QUOTE]You must log in or register to see images

sadly (and if I may use this example) Sometimes I think Labour hasn't changed that much. With the leader, it's like Hitler appointing Goebbels. All part of the previous bunch. You have to wonder whether Starmer can't kick the bloke from the shadow cabinet because he's a far left Corbynite, and Starmer is worried about an internal Labour backlash from the militant left
Late to the party here, but I don't get the fuss over the Cummings thing. PM's most senior adviser attends a meeting of other people also advising the PM. Is that really what we have an issue with? What am I missing?
Strikes me as if there could just as easily be a story going round about how "no Minister or senior Number 10" staffer attended the SAGE meeting to hear advice firsthand, and the same people wound up about Cummings would be railing about that.
