I see the coronavirus testing website closed within minutes of opening. Like bloody Glastonbury!

BUSINESSES which have re-opened after shutting down over the coronavirus crisis were "never required to close", Matt Hancock declared today.
"Throughout we've allowed hardware stores to stay open, and the construction industry, but what businesses have been doing is taking the last couple of weeks to work out 'ok how do you stay open and stay within the social-distancing rules at work?'

"So it's absolutely fine for those businesses to stay open because they were never required to close by the social-distancing rules."

Sometimes I think he’s one of the better ones in a bad bunch of charlatans who have sold themselves out for the cult and then I read something like that.

She really is incredibly positive about the chances of success, in a way that I would get into huge trouble for if I was talking about something in phase 2 - though it’s sort of hard to tell what phase trial this is, must be different for vaccines, was interesting that the comparator arm is not placebo but meningitis vaccine.

Chinese released interim results on the Gilead drug early, not promising but trial not complete, and the Chinese results seem to contradict what happened in Chicago. The anti malarial not performing well apparently.

I agree about the second arm of the trial too Stan. My guess is that the CoVid19 vaccine is built on the framework of the meningitis vaccine, that is why that is the second arm, and why no placebo is needed. This is just a safety trial in healthy and very fit volunteers, I think this is phase1/phase2 and one of the corners they are cutting... I think the vaccine people are been to be positive, as everything else is not looking good. As you say the remdesivir results are disappointing, especially as I thought it had been shown to be a little effective in SARS (CoVid1). The hydrochloroquinine , has been used in this country, some one on the news was given it, and made a recovery...but these are one off tales I am afraid.

    Worrying times

mmm I am glad people like Sarah Gilbert because she was the bod I mentioned on here a while back and a couple of posters seemed to think these bods were controlled by the government... which in itself is b2222222's.

With a bit of luck, somebody will suggest to him that he's a wimp who doesn't stand up to his advisers and call them out and then dare him to to do just one of the stupid things he has suggested. The bleach sounds like a good one. Pull the moron a pint of the best. Donald if you've got nothing to say take a tip. Don't say anything - answer that you don't know and pass the question over to one of the experts who is in the briefing with you

is it just me, or does anyone else find it very strange that China have admitted to roughly only 3500 deaths when there are more deaths in other countries??

Also, (and I would value opinions on here) PPE - the majority of people I have seen on TV have bare arms. Now if this virus can stay on a surface, and you lean on the surface, then you are then picking this up? If you then brush up against another surface you are spreading this? If I am talking rubbish then let me know.

I heard on the news last night that some of the Hong Kong activists and people standing in the elections have been arrested. Some others seemed to have disappeared...

Last night I posted about the COVID problem in Canada and the lack of action coming from our PM when I am only about 65 miles away from the border to a country who's president thinks drinking Lysol is a good idea.
