I can confirm all of the above.

Thank you. People on here were probably thinking that I was making half of it up, but in truth there is more I could add.
I have sent 2 emails to the regional head of admin and personnel, this week, with links to the latest furlough scheme updates and haven’t even had a response to confirm that the emails have arrived.
Tomorrow will be a phone call to head office and if, like the last three times, I end up speaking to a secretary to the directors, I will ask to speak to one of the directors, or at least get an email address.
I am due to retire next year, so pissing off the bigwigs holds no fears for me.

I have officially been on lockdown for 5 weeks today and have worked out I have only driven 18 miles in that time. I normally average 6-700 a month.

Being a geek I have a tracker linked to various things to sense occupancy & who is where etc in the house that then triggers off various automations. Anyway, I digest. I have a made a sensor from that data that displays on the dashboard how long I am at home over a rolling 7 day period for the last 4 weeks.

The result this week:

96.4%

That 3.6% is for dog walking, poor things.

I don't think any of us think that you are making it up badger. I don't know why as I have only met a handful of you on here, but you all feel like family and I really hope you get this sorted.

We'll look back at this and laugh one day. Honest :)

You wouldn't like me if you did know me and I would probably like you even less.
I am positive of that and would be really be pissed if I thought for a second you liked me. Buy hey this is a football forum and slowly over the last 5 weeks since this OP was started I believe we have lost quite a few members, we should stick to football and would at least have one thing in common, even though we still disagree about that.

No we don't

What’s the % for drinking wine in the hot tub with the lovely mrs No7.<bubbly>

The wonderful thing about this forum is that we all interact with people who we normally wouldn't just get to meet/see etc. We are all diverse, and I think it is an excellent thing to see different views about everything.

If we can't agree on football, we'll never agree on the wider world, but if is good to interact. I hope those absent friends come back soon

I've always said that there might be a little too much "Hollywood" in the average American. Covid-19 is NOT an 18th sequel. <laugh>
For clarification [just in case] Covid-19 is an abbreviation of Coronavirus Disease-2019. So the 19 is just the year. The Corona name is given because the virus wears a protein crown or Corona.

Actually, I'm a bit surprised that a US politician hasn't suggested that drinking Corona beer will make you more susceptible to the disease. I mean, surely that's fated to happen, isn't it? It's only a matter of time before someone stupid enough blurts it out. Then they can burn down the brewery. <cheers>
Your dislike of Americans has no boundaries. If you said that about the French or Germans you would be called a bigot or racist or calling the people or said it to you the same.

Most countries will have a second and probably even a third wave. It's mostly a question of how large those waves are: if you are able to reduce new cases to a trickle before reopening, you might be able to contain it for a bit before further restrictions need to be put in place, and if you limit internal movement you might be able to get away with regional lockdowns instead of national.

Open too early though, and within two weeks you'll have a significantly more severe problem than previous. The goal is pretty much to have a gentle, reducing waveform, rather than giant whitecaps crashing against the population.

Oh I agree, what I mean is that it's inevitable in one form or another as it's not practical to stay under the current restrictions until the vaccine is available.

You're right that it's all about trying to manage the scale. You don't want to lift restrictions too early if it's gonna reach a point where they are needed again.

Continually berating a nation every day when my wife is an American and I have 100 of American friends and colleagues that are not 95% dumb asses is just getting old and ignorant. I guess all American democrats are ok but Republicans are ass holes. I am done and will not miss this bullshit.

I agree there - My daughter as you all know lives down the road from you and is married to an American and his family are now my family.

However, I also feel we in the UK see a slightly different America than you do and I do from here, so I give a lot of leeway to posters on here. Life is too short to argue and block people IMO. We are all different and will always have different views. My son in law is a staunch republican and I disagree with a lot of the stuff he says..but agree with other bits. We just agree to disagree on anything Trump :)

EDIT: And we have a mini Trump....

No7 I always like your posts and we have shared a few things regarding your trips to Atlanta. Unfortunately the concept of agree to disagree and tolerance of another person views has turned into name calling and categorization. I was having such a great St Georges Day today. Both sides of the pond are in this together, it will not be too long when there will be demonstrations in the UK, when you are losing you house and cannot pay for food, your job becomes an essential service.

Anyway to get back to Covid-19, how do you feel about the restrictions being lifted in Georgia? Too soon? Genuine question.

Unfortunately economics and health should never mix and in modern capitalism it has. Now we have got to a point where we have to choose. It highlights that our economies must change or become heartless.
