I made my piece a while ago with the potential takeover. If it happens, it happens. FWIW, for the life of me, I do not understand why any rich guy or group of guys will drop 10m into someone else's account. Maybe i'm being very simplistic, but, I would expect at some point they would want something from such an investment as I didn't have these guys down as philanthropists. What I do know, is that Donald will never be a saviour of our club....maybe, just maybe, these guys have the same opinion and are just waiting their time.

Agree with the idea that they want more. They have a deal that gives them more if they want it in future.

It does seem from Donald's words that we need to be in the championship for them to make that happen. I wonder if he will start spending their cash in the summer on a big squad overhaul and go all out? Or if he'll hold on to that cash in case things go tits up so he can repay it, the way he has done the last 6 months.

Talking of cash to spend, I was listening to Simon Jordan last night (they were talking abut the Newcastle Takeover) but he seemed confident that when football resumes all FFP rules will be relaxed for a while which could help the clubs who want to spend a bit more than they should to go out and do it. This could help us to get out of this league next season (assuming as our form showed that we're on track to **** it up this season)

Yeah I hope so. The alternative is to try and spend very little and hope for the best, which hasn't worked this year. Even if he can financially survive indefinitely like that, he would surely realise that it would make his position untenable.

No way it’s SBC mate, he tried to come across as naive and always hoyed in pathetic far too obvious contradictions to what had been said in interviews and other factual information.

The other choice is to do what he keeps talking about and sell the club ...

... he's lost all momentum and I don't believe he can recover it.

No one knows if he's started using FPP money but that may be available.

    If not, why not?

Can anyone explain what was the point of the loan/investment.

This claim that its 'to keep FPP at the table' is nonsense imo, how does it do that?

If Donald hasn't touched it what on earth is the point of having it, only to give it back?

whay that's just what he has done here marra. If you look at it, his opinion and only his matters, you go around in circles and FPP have never been at the table cos there is no proof. All the same soundbites from him over the road. He denied anything was happening and nothing is happening until its happened :emoticon-0112-wonde

It’s the words he uses as well it just doesn’t seem like SBC, not to me anyway. Although I think SBC is a wum and pulls the wool over peoples eyes on RTG about learning difficulties this incarnation might be a little different. Anyhoo I don’t want to waste too much of our time on him I put the boring bastard on ignore when I frequented over the road.

I've no respect for anonymous people sneaking around incognito ...

... I've no doubt some people inhabit multiple forums with a different persona on each one.

He's probably 'Suzie from Guildford' on Mumsnet and 'Derek from Wolverhampton' on Grindr.

  15. On the basis of what you and others have consistently said,I believe it's an advance to ensure enough funds are available,if needed,to achieve promotion,at which point the FPP deal comes into play and the advance is adjusted in the purchase price. FPP didn't want the whole thing to fall over simply for a lack of,what is to them,a relatively small amount. The way it was done and the apparent terms attached indicate it must have been that. Whether SD has used any of it up to the point when this horrible virus took over,I don't know. He may have been of the view that PP was doing ok and promotion was on the cards. As for him talking of selling,of course he's able to bring other potential buyers into discussion, probably no clause exists to prevent him from doing so, on the understanding FPP will have to be repaid from the proceeds, and no doubt a penalty clause in there.
However, it will be highly unlikely he'll get anywhere near the offer he's looking for to better the one on the table from FPP,as and when promotion is achieved, and if it's not achieved,he won't get the value he wants from anyone. FPP may not be prepared to wait for ever though, hence another reason why he could be talking to other suitors.
It remains my opinion that FPP are serious buyers of us as a Championship club, and, although the current situation is muddying all the waters for everyone, I still expect them to be our new owners at some time in the not too distant future, depending what goes on on the pitch.

:emoticon-0102-bigsm , SBC isn't pretending like, when he struggles, his dar helps him out, that's why you can notice a change in the content from time to time. Lets try it out, I have a Fiat Abarth available, South Shields area only, just give a £1000 to a charity of Reivers choice and you can have it.

Sunderland in league one is unsustaiable for a club its size the longer it remains in league one. Something has to give eventually. The coronavirus WILL be having an impact. Furlough does help but the club isn't getting any income from gates etc. It's clear that Donald still has comunication with the Americans as I am sure he said we may go back and ask them to invest more if we get to the Championship. Darragh MacAnthony said on his youtube channel that he would be open to taking a loan from premier league clubs to deal with the financial impact on EFL clubs. By the way nobody knows how long this will go on for. I really can't see how SD wouldn't have to use the loan money at this moment or in the near future. I also don't see anyone else buying us anytime soon given all the uncertainty. Just hope the club doesn't go under. Worst case senario of course. Hopefully there's a takeover sooner rather than later as in STID II is was evident SD can't run it long term. I just hope that FPP or an equivalent end up running the club. I know it's not always 'the grass is greener' but I'd certainly take my chaces at present.

I also don't think the season will be finished. If that was the case it looks bleak for all lower league clubs.
