Good team Jenrick and Powis.
I thought today they handled not only the questioning (especially that silly one from Deborah Haynes... You see what SkyNews does to a good Times reporter)! But overall they were clued up today.
The positive news was over 1000+ drop in hospital beds
The sleeping rough 90% figure was positive.
Parks to open... Good, but you can see groups of people gathering.
Funerals... mourners to attend.
PPE ... that was interesting and a great response from Powis saying about him/family/friends are frontline doctors
And they fully understand and if you read between the lines he basically said he would be the first to complain if they let NHS staff down.
Re Bame. I mentioned this last week and have listened to comments about (poorer backgrounds) however too much evidence has put that to rest. Too many people from ethnic backgrounds are dying. We need to understand why?
Just saw their answer to Debra Haynes as had tv on hold to watch briefing & agree they shot her down pretty good over stupid questions & came across well during briefing, only one deluded on here Ellers & it’s not you

Yeah, the comeback from Jenrick was a slap down. When he said he took medicines to his elderly parents even the very liberal Mrs. Ellers reacted and said: "that shut her up"... and it did. Many families including my own have helped out people. As I type this the Mrs is out shopping for not only us but for two elderly people and she will drop it off to them like she did the medicines earlier this week.
Sometimes reporters really need to think about the question rather than trying to score political points.
Other than the deaths today (which is always very sad) the news sounded promising. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Any examples of how the government have done well Jeff? I've got a pretty extensive list saying otherwise. It's a genuine question mate that I put out earlier but the response has been......well let's say pretty poor.

I actually felt quite sorry for Jenprick today. He doesn't seem like a bad bloke. Just following the government narrative of deflect and evade I suppose. Carry on guys, doing a superb job.

It was a bit of an own goal to ask that as it’s an easy answer to give although it’s not exactly in the spirit of the lockdown. He could easily have arranged someone closer to have sorted it. It allowed him to dodge the part about his dodgy use of various properties.

It was a waste of a question as he answered this weeks ago. I dont blame him for taking meds to his parents, I would if the local pharmacy couldn't deliver them. Infact most of the questions are a waste of time as they never get answered. The whole briefing is a bit bizarre to say the least. Talk some ****, show us some pointless, misleading graphs and then take some questions and evade answering.

Must have missed the promising news.

The 888 deaths excluding all the ones we aren’t including and health professionals being inadequately equipped to stop themselves getting and spreading the virus wasn’t terribly promising.

3 people in my sis in laws team are refusing to work until correct PPE is delivered. One who had a mask fit now has the virus as they didnt have her size and she was asked to wear a larger one that just kept slipping. I expect that there will be more like this as time goes on.

Have you told her the promising news? Could sway them.
