Now, if I wanted to be an even smarter arse than I am, I’d say something about not responding to the post here.

But I’ve had plenty of fun for one day, so I’d better let it lie, petal.
Thanks Sb you don't normally make too many mistakes. Its glad to know you are as human as the rest of us. :) i’m sure you will still receive plenty of ‘love ins’ sorry I meant ‘likes’ <doh>

On a serious note another 880 deaths today. :emoticon-0106-cryin Hopefully the number will start falling soon.

Don’t worry......he’ll only get into a strop and say everyone is picking on him.

NB He has me on ignore so it doesn’t matter what I say ‘cos he can’t read it anyway......(or does he ?) ;)

Interesting thread re. ventilators. Interesting and a tad gobsmacking. I should warn you it isn’t massively complimentary of the politicians involved in case you now don’t wish to read it, which is fine.

I don’t get it. Ventilators are machines, like microwaves or radios or whatever. Why wouldn’t they survive for mor than a few hours. Makes no sense.
Ellers...Exactly.

Please read the article both of you, the government and their advisors, which from later comments appear to be " generic advisors", not specialist advisors, were sent off to "reinvent a cheap and easy to produce wheel", that would work for a short time. There were many things wrong including the inability to wean the patient off the ventilator, by allowing the patient to start breathing for themselves. They came back with simple devices that were not fit for purpose (remember these are not specialist companies...Mercedes, Smith and Nephew, Maclaren..even Dyson (who I hate)...but they did not know quite what they were being asked.

Like asking me to change the tyres on my car...I can do it...but have I put the front on the back, have I got the right radius or thread, have I put the nuts on correctly?

The government panicked, they did not act sensibly. Their advisors did not act responsibly either. Did none of the advisors say.... we need ventilators I am sure, but I do not know what type...speak to this expert about it.. Obviously not

Three times we have been asked to join an EU think tank on procurement of vital supplies and we have not joined.

This is not a political rant, I have no idea if labour would have done better, I hope they may have listened more, but I do not know.
I am happy to say this government is not evil or malicious or bad, but I am really believing they are incompetent and it is now getting to being a serious mismanagement.

A question I would like to know though...Is where is Boris?
Is he a lot sicker than we were told.... or is he hiding in a fridge after throwing Raab and Hancock to the wolves

Thank you Beth that means a lot to me after all negative feedback received (some justified) <cheers>

So this is the 4th week of lock down (I think) the death rates are still climbing. Add together all our covid death rates and it could be argued that we are over around 22,000. Just seen on the news that Belgium count all deaths even if only suspected of covid19 in their official figures to attempt to give a clearer picture. We do the opposite to give a more misleading picture.

It really is irrelevant to even think of another party and how they would have managed it. We can only analyse the people in charge and it has been total incompetence from the start, not too short of negligence.

You are right Bobmid...this is really concerning
1. We are out of the surge of deaths due to the final few days before lockdown, when many were infected, but we were still hugging and kissing people. These people today have probably caught CoVid during lockdown
2. It is fairly obvious that our NHS is actually not at breakpoint like it was in Italy, we do not get pictures of seriously ill people on corridors in Italian hospitals. We are coping better than they are....but still our numbers are going up.

Something is a miss, and no I do not know what. What are we missing here. Any ideas anyone

The only idea I have is to go on the R's offish website and watch the Luton game from earlier in the season......a bit of escapism from all the doom and gloom

Up The R's
