What I don’t understand is that if this virus is starting to be contained - and the number of deaths across the entire country is below 900/day and expected to fall - why are we hearing of so many of these popping up across the country.....?

On another note watched Dom8nic Raabs briefing at 5pm when he told us what we already knew about the lockdown carrying on for at least another 3 weeks and unl8kely to be any other decision soon....first question f4om Laura Kuensberg from the Beeb....when is there likely to be a decision made on lifting the lockdown????? Is it hospital admissions starting to decrease (although that doesn't seem to be the case in Southampton) but number of deaths broadly the same and likely to stay that way for a couple of weeks due to the lag time. Don't hear much about these Nightingale hospitals. Maybe they're not going to be needed as much as the government anticipated. As for the journalists questions today, there were two answers to all questions asked. 1. No, we're not giving any details on how we will ease the lock-down. 2. The 'R' value is now less than 1 and it's vital for public health and the economy that we keep it there.
If too much positivity is announced then the brain deads,and as we know there are plenty of them out there,will think it is party time.
It is the admissions that are down. As you say Southampton is starting it’s peak, so their admissions are up, although they only had one admission yesterday into ITU.
