Nah, you go on knocking yourself out, Lord of the Woke.Come I love reading stuff from people only to fall flat on their faces.
Well I think discussion of the relative merits of different politicians is one for the politics thread. I really do not have any views on them worth sharing, though I do like the nicknames from the Times.
I suspect you missed the sarcasm in Strollers post.
Raab has the intellectual capacity to take over as leader, but changing leader in the middle of a crisis is highly undesirable. Imagine if Churchill had been assassinated in 1941.
Are you really comparing Boris to Churchill?
One was able to raise the troops and raise the nation.
The other runs the tory party whom much of the NHS abhor so i'm not sure how much morale raising he will have (now this isn't necessarily Boris fault but this is the general view as i understand it about the NHS vs the tories).
You raise a good point that Boris would have had conversations with other world leaders which his advisors and civil service did not have. I would argue that he has made good and bad decisions throughout this pandemic so again, i'm not 100% sure how much worse or better off we would have been with someone else in charge.
It depends what sort of crisis we are in. We have already done a U-turn on this current crisis so i'm not sure Raab will be changing the direction too much. If this was a political crisis with a foreign country, then agreed, we probably need a consistent figurehead.
Okay, but I will miss your 'expert' opinion.Nah, you go on knocking yourself out, Lord of the Woke.

Yes, they will. I hope they all accept Raab's authority. Hancock and Sunak are already at loggerheads on the way forward
Yes, I am comparing him to Churchill, as a leader in time of crisis. I wouldn't restrict it to Boris. Any PM of this country would qualify (even Gordon Brown)
If Boris is away for a while, Raab will be facing difficult decisions over lockdown intensity or moderation v damage to the economy. As I say, I don't envy him
This is probably the one thing i hadn't considered that Boris would resolve. The in house bickering and fighting about the way forward within the cabinet. I guess ultimately, each one has control of their own areas so will make a decision on their own areas.
I'm sure Cummings will be rolling something out soonYes but that only works where minister's areas of responsibility don't conflict. Where they do, you need a strong decision-maker
The EU will be finished a lot quicker than I thought due to Coronavirus. States have ignored the EU commission on many occasions especially with the closing of borders. In return, the EU has proved to be utterly useless. Some countries beginning to see the true value of the EU...
