Sounds to me like the perfect recipe for infecting a whole bunch of healthy people who volunteer as carers, and so are not experts in healthcare and how to avoid infection themselves, and so end up infected. Forgive me for being cynical but I have seen intensive care first hand, and the people that work in there are so highly trained and skilled, so bringing in amateurs to make up the numbers surely presents massive risks to all involved.

I think all the people in there will be Medical professionals, trained and managed by specialists, but there really isn’t much option, you can’t create the thousands of specialists needed out of thin air. My concern is that the existing specialists will be exhausted, and likely more prone to infection, if they are essentially working double shifts.

I’ve just read that Watford General wasn’t full, they had a technical problem with pumping oxygen around.

I’m sure some people were behaving like twats, but I’m equally sure that Brockwell Park is big enough to accommodate 3000 people with 2 metres between them. Gets a bit complicated when someone moves, but we need to keep a level of sanity around this.

I grew up in Brixton and that park in the summer regularly had problems, there's a confrontational attitude that really isn't helpful particularly now. I guess the police have had a word...

Police out in the parks locally to me, though appeared they were just observing rather than intervening

Plenty of people out walking or cycling but being very sensible and giving each other a wide berth

With the weather even better tomorrow any over policing could be confrontational in some places

We had let our supplies run down a bit, so we had to make a foraging trip to the supermarket this morning.
We usually manage to get small bits from the local shops, but having 3 vegans in the household means a trip to a large store to get a decent variety of vegan supplies.
Sainsbury have a good selection of vegan food so we arrived there shortly after they opened at 8am.
The queue was already quite long, but orderly and everyone was sticking to the two metre guidelines, using the markers put down outside by the store.
All trollies and baskets were wiped down by the staff and they let people in a few at a time in single file.
However, as soon as I was in the store my stress levels went through the roof.
So many people were just ignoring the social distancing and standing right next to me.
I swear I was close to losing my rag!!
Hopefully that's main supplies topped up for a week or two.

That’s the bastard mate, the stores now seem organised it’s some of the ****ing customers that need a clip round the lughole. I’m trying to keep to one large shop a week and one quick one for fresh fruit and veg. I’m finding it much quieter in the afternoons, and no difference to stock.

Yeah, maybe now the hoarding twats have done their worst I'll try it in the afternoon.
Up till now the stock levels have been awful by the afternoon.

Went to the park at about 4pm with the missus, the kids and the dog, bit of walking, bit of lobbing tennis balls around. Pretty busy, lots of singles and couples lying on the grass, lots of games going on, lots of cyclists, lots of walkers. But, as above, it’s big enough to cope and people were 100% sensible. Strictly speaking, we should only be going for the exercise, then straight home, but I think there’s a lot of value in benefiting from a bit of air and a bit of sunshine. Had there been dispersals, it would have been very wrong.

Looks OK to me from that picture. We went to Ruislip Lido today and there were quite a few people about, but distancing was perfectly possible. Closing public spaces is wrong in my opinion.

I really don’t get this over zealous policing. If I want to have a walk down to the park, on my own, and sit down on the grass, on my own, reading the ****ing newspaper...ON MY OWN....what the **** is wrong with that ?
I work 12 hour shifts, I get stressed and being in with the kids all day on my days off would send me stress levels through the roof.
I’d like to hope that most po-po would take a sensible approach....but would hazard a guess that some won’t.

I didn't set foot outside the house for 3 days prior to today but getting out on my bike really lifted my mood, and doing so again tomorrow will definitely make me more productive at work next week

Rather then staying indoors all the time everyone should be getting outside for an hour everyday

This thing has turned a lot of people into distancing zealots. I don't really care that much about my own compromised safety, but try to stay away from others out of courtesy. Keeping the parks open is vital for people's mental health.

I get what you mean but some people are just so thick.
It's not hard to keep your distance.

To be honest, being a singer, I am used to trying to hold my breath whenever someone invades my personal space for fear of catching the lurgy.
