yup, thats why i said it's only your furloughed staff. To be precise, 550 of your staff will be on 80% of their wages whereas all of bournemouths (minus eddie) will be on 100%.

That is why spurs are getting **** for it and bournemouth are not.

As for Norwich and Newcastle, they deserve more **** too but one is Mike Ashley and it would be like writing about Trump (no point, Ashley is already a giant cock in peoples eyes) and no idea what Delia has done to be in their good graces

And yet people are convinced all of our staff are being furloughed (in spite the THST doing a better job of clarifying this than the club itself) and we're eating **** - even though Norwich and Newcastle have furloughed their entire non-playing staff, with Newcastle not only not even releasing a statement about it but also informing their non-playing staff by email first thing Monday morning, while Bournemouth have simply been sneaky little ****s

As for Delia, she's a National Treasure so cannot be criticised for anything even though her recipes are stodgy and her devoting a half hour programme to telling people how to make toast was supremely patronising

Luckily there's no track record of any National Treasures doing anything dodgy...

Just read up on the norwich furlough and it appears they are topping up their staff to 100% wages too.

So really, its your you boys and mike ashley who are in the same boat of giving your furloughed staff 80% of their wages.

Apart from we're paying the majority of our staff, a detail which got lost faster than Matt Hancock's ability to understand that, if he tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday, he should be self-isolating for a minimum of seven days and not doing press conferences within six

Gotta be honest mate...I do not know what is wrong with people telling them to pay their staff.
My uni daughter and her partner live in Brighton. Both work in different weatherspoons. Both have had their wages reduced to 80%.
Weatherspoons claim they would use the previous 52 weeks pay as the baseline for calculating the 80% but their furloughed wages this week bear no resemblance to this and it looks lime the company's ignored all bonus and holiday payover the past 52 weeks.
This is financially hurting them but it is causing so much stress that it affecting my daughters mental health and wrecking her dissertation work as she is spending so much time chasing up her union.

You are responding like the club is the victim.
To be clear...not a SINGLE person should be losing money unless they have freely chosen to do so.

The club's behaviour is disgraceful...I ain't a Levy out type, nor am I having a knee jerk reaction.
These ****ers are hurting other human beings. It is cruelty of the highest order imposed from rich people upon the poorest employees of the club.

Until this changes the club richly deserves the kicking it is getting.

They're still discussing how the season can be finished and playing behind closed doors keeps being raised as an option. That's a non-starter.
It would involve the players having to disregard government guidance on social distancing, given that footballers tend to come into close contact with each other!
Mind you, Arsenal's defence has been practising social distancing for years :emoticon-0105-wink:

I wonder why the players and their staff don't except I.O.U.s for a couple of months and give the workers the money they need. Surely players are not living week to week on their money?

Well for one thing, the majority of non-playing staff haven't been furloughed, so these morons genuinely have no clue what they're shaking their fists at

Secondly, it's clearly been co-opted by the LeEvEe owT mob, which is why the THST's statement is being outright ignored for not fitting the story even though the THST have more of a clue than the bleaters do, and similar can be said for those demanding Levy cut player salaries to make up the difference even though anyone with a brain would know the PFA was holding all the cards there and were digging their heels in

None of that changes the fact that some of the lowest paid club employees are now experiencing both financial and mental health difficulties due to the disgraceful decision of the club not to make up the missing 20% of their wages.
I took pride that the club voluntarily committed to being a payer of the London Living Wage (LLW).
That meant that not only direct employees had to be paid it but EVERY contractor had to guarantee and prove that they pay their staff the LLW.
I have been effected by that need personally (cos being a fully qualified TA can be so badly paid the council that employs me had to invent a pay rise for me after they signed up to being a LLW employer...cos my union pointed out that some of us were paid less!)

I have campaigned and fought for firstly, the minimum wage and then the LLW via my union and as a shop steward since the early 1990s.
And like I said, took great pride in the club being part of making it mainstreaming.

To watch our club now treating low earners like this is appalling.

I personally couldn't give a **** about the PFA or the players cos that should not impact on the pay of the lowest earners.

The club has got to rectify this because they are behaving in a morally bankrupt manner.

The Levy out fans, the media not digging out other clubs and the club not being able to cut the pay of the players cos of the PFA are all irrelevant to the central point...

My club are wrong to be acting like money grabbing scum at the expense of low paid employees.

It is a stain on the long proud history of our club and it makes me feel ashamed to be a spur.

The problem is that it does, as those employees are basically being used as ammunition for various agendas

The Tories are trying to use it to divert attention from the criminal negligence they're currently guilty of
The press are using it as a stick to beat us with so they can divert attention from elsewhere
The Levy Out mob are using them to say that Levy should definitely stay (wait, I got that wrong...)
The Reddit/Twitter crowd are using it for little more than a ****ing meme by this point
Other clubs are using it as an excuse to "Umm" and "Ahh" until the heat dies down - or furlough staff as they're out of the firing line
The PFA used it as an excuse to continue digging in their heels while advising players not to take pay cuts

As the THST said, the lack of detail and nuance in the initial statement is what's hurt the club more than anything - and by complete coincidence that's done a lot to help those with agendas

Regardless of agendas the simple fact is thst some of the lowest paid staff have had a massive 20% reduction in their pay. That is not acceptable.

As for what's hurting the club...I could not give a **** mate...I would if they were not hurting the staff by not making up the 20%...the club can afford to do this and morally have a responsibility to do so.

WTF is the point of "community work" to lessen the negative effects of social deprivation such as crime, lack of training, lack of eduction etc when the same people add to the deprivation by slaughtering some employees pay...many of who will live locally.

The club has a social responsibility which it tries very had to meet...the lastest book "Destinstion Tottenham" makes this point really clearly, yet in the biggest crisis in my life time it cuts the pay of some of the lowest paid staff.

Btw...I hope my passion about this ain't coming across like I have a problem with you cos I don't.

But reducing these people to rocks to throw for whichever pre-existing agenda is getting pushed is similarly unacceptable, and that's exactly what the lEveE owT mob are doing because they don't give a **** about them either but are using them as ammunition, which is made abundantly clear by how people are wilfully ignoring the facts as they don't suit the Narrative they're pushing

Nowhere near similarly unacceptable for me...the club are causing their own pr problems and could immediately change it...unlike the poorest paid who are the only victims here.
We ain't gonna agree and I do not wanna bore people so will leave it alone now.
