If you are in the Emergency services circles you will find many many positive images. The public have mostly been absolutely amazing and it humbled me when I get the praise I do from people in the street. However it doesn’t negate the fact that those who put themselves in danger should have the right to voice concern when they are poorly equipped. I’m sure your ‘friend’ would say the same
They don't - generally. But now that they are in the front line of a battle they didn't expect to be facing, it would be nice if they had the correct equipment to protect themselves. I mean, we wouldn't send our armed forces into a war zone without flak jackets or decent weapons would we.....oh, we did, didn't we
I couldn't give a **** what other countries are doing - that's their issue. I'm more concerned about what's happening here and my familys well being. It's well documented that there's a lack of sufficient protection for the NHS, but hey ho, let's not have them complain
Greta Thunberg reveals she has been self-isolating after experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. She wrote on Instragram: "Everyone feeling ill are told to stay at home and isolate themselves. "I have therefore not been tested for COVID-19, but it’s extremely likely that I’ve had it, given the combined symptoms and circumstances. "Now I’ve basically recovered, but - AND THIS IS THE BOTTOM LINE: I almost didn’t feel ill. Don't be surprised if Bristol gets hit badly?
Yes, another ****. We still carried on sending troops into other war zones long after he'd gone, ill-prepared, ill-equipped and ill-funded - but guess what....we didn't complain either.... Maybe leave this **** for politics thread though, eh?
Of course I want our front line staff protected. They deserve that. There is an argument that we could have been better prepared and then there are those saying it couldn't be helped. Remember the Chinese basically cleared all the country of masks and gloves recently. I listened to an interesting interview that they have been working around the clock to sort this. I am sure there will be a blame game after. until then keep posting the positive pictures.
I try to ignore most of what you say Ellers, but when it’s a veiled attack on my colleagues and me, I can’t help myself. Apologies, I’ll go back to ignoring your posts.
You're the one bringing the politics into this with your faux rage that we dare post some pictures of how poorly protected our NHS is
Yes. We did and will continue to do so. I can't help thinking that if we hadn't all been hoodwinked by Margaret Thatcher into thinking that there is no point in public service unless it is profitable we wouldn't be expecting the front line to take on as much risk as they do now. Her place on the bonfire is assured along with Theresa May and just about everyone else who has been in power between their respective periods in charge. The cult of the penny pinching taxpayer who wants his elderly parents looked after but can't see why he should have to pay an extra penny or two in taxes has a lot to answer for.
Honestly Ellers, I get where you are coming from on this. I too get tired of the misery. But I think we need to be terrified into taking this as seriously as it needs to be taken. Inadequately protected staff, the staff who should be confident in their own safety while they go about their work, are absolutely right to shout about it. ‘Grin and bear it’ ‘mustn’t grumble’ ‘worse things happen at sea’ are attitudes which seem stoic and brave, but actually just allow the piss to be taken in perpetuity. Police called to a part of Coventry where over twenty people were having a barbecue. I don’t think an epidemic is required to cordon off parts of Coventry permanently.
eer I have not made any 'veiled attack on your colleagues or you' Show me one post where I have knocked the NHS... not one or said anything about you. in fact all my post have been supportive of the NHS Last contact I had with you was when you through your toys out of the pram before the election and stopped posting.
I’d be grateful if you didn’t goad Stainsey into leaving the board again, he’s the only real front line witness we have on here, it’s an incredibly important perspective to have.
Interesting comments on TV from two of the top medical experts who said that the critical care team in the UK is 2nd to none .. although we don't have as many as countries like Germany.
Sb I have not goaded Staines... bloody read back and tell me where I even mention him. You won't find it. I was talking about a picture. If he thinks thats goading him... thats something he needs to deal with. Nothing about him.
If nobody questioned the government we’d still be going head first for ‘herd immunity’. The Central line is going for herd immunity anyway.
