Seems like a sensible time to call for an extension/truce. I appreciate the cult is important but we are out of the EU after all and this isn’t a time to play Brexit games.
For once I agree with you, in my honest opinion anybody caught “Profiteering” should have their goods confiscated, their profits donated to charity and the confiscated goods passed onto homeless shelters, the old and the vulnerable, and if I had my way without exception all would be jailed for a minimum of 1 year without exception
Told the other half to not go out panic buying. She totally ignored me, came home to find Andy Carroll sitting in a cupboard
Agree I said last week when a mate asked me about Brexit. I think it should be cancelled for now and we should leave in December 2021.
Mmm interesting comments from Simon Clark when questioned on why only 44 deaths in Germany and he said “I have seen some suggestion their procedure for reporting things on death certificates is different”
Maybe. I’d have thought the 25000 ventilators with 10000 more on order might have helped. It’s barely started here and this is happening https://www.hsj.co.uk/news/hospital...elmed-by-coronavirus-patients/7027189.article
I don’t get your point Watford... you are stating the bleeding obvious! No one is saying that we won’t struggle. Rather than keep bitching about things/Boris/Tories/NHS do something useful. Maybe you should read up a bit further back than when Boris got into power... interesting comments I heard yesterday regarding previous warnings to Blair when other viruses came out. Yet he spent money on wars and brainwashing the next generation of kids and turning our society in to a bunch of PC morons who cannot accept losing.
I am currently wrestling with the notion that the entire world has somewhat over reacted to this virus, considering the number of deaths from flu etc. I realise it will spread much quicker than seasonal flu and this will mean higher numbers of deaths among the vulnerable and elderly, but is this reaction really necessary? Has the world finally succumbed to complete wokeness? I'm not saying this is my opinion, it's just that it's kicking around at the back of my mind. I'm sure everyone can put me right.
My point as it has consistently been is that we are more ****ed than most. We had little to no capacity as it was. Blair probably could have done more. He certainly wasn’t perfect. Labour haven’t been in power for a decade though. You can blame point the finger at Labour but it would be pretty ****ing stupid to do so while waving a blue flag.
Well some braindick on my Facebook page reckons it’s a conspiracy around a no deal Brexit.... Boris knows he can’t get a deal so is going to lock the country down for 2 years....I was going to reply but thought it wasn’t worth my time. I believe this flu is a quick spreading one that acts more like pneumonia. Like you I have questioned things. it’s mortality rate to other things is very low but I guess we need to listen to the health experts and do what the say.
Once again you are talking utter rubbish mate. How long do you think clinical trials take or medicines and treatments to be on the market. I know this because my mate works for the people who do this.... A lot longer than this Tory government.
Probably a lot longer than it takes to slash the number of NHS beds to the point we have people treated in corridors if they’re lucky in a normal winter. If you’re going to blame Blair then where does it end? Major? Thatcher?
Not sure it's wokeness Col but it's the way that Countries have been overwhelmed by this Virus that is the worry and as we're being told we're nowhere near the peak, so it's bound to get far worse. You just have to look at the posts that Stainsey has been putting on here to realise that this is far worse than seasonal flu. We can not be complacent and think this will blow over in double quick time...…... Another thing is that this is the first time even our generation has been tested by this sort of thing, previous generations had world wars to contend with, but at least we're now of an age to realise the seriousness of it all and take the guidance on board, it's the current generation that seem to be ignorant of the consequences of their actions. Our Government has basically told the younger people to cop on to themselves and to take Health advice seriously otherwise the Garda will have not option but to enforce the guidelines...….
Then we go back to the same old argument the the Tories had to sort out the economy that labour bust... I said before Watford it wasn't the Tories that shut down the special baby care unit at Heatherwood or turned that hospital into some appointment place. It wasn't the Tories who made old people and pregnant women travel 40 mins to Wexham Park after they shut down parts of the hospital. I remember all of that with a Blair government. I also remember how they spent all the money on new school buildings but not staff. I know because my son was at school. I remember how labour wasted crap loads of money moving crap families into nice areas to try and integrate... mixing troublesome kids with high achievers at schools which also backfired. I wont bother today but i have a list of all the wasted billions on crap projects under labour.... all this was going on when they were warned. Same under the Tories. No one could be prepared for this and knocking our system is incorrect at this time. Listen to the Italian doctor on skyNews. He explains how they had many bed and tests but it was futile.
Just heard that employed will get 80% of their wages paid. What about the 5 million self employed like me!!!?
I'm not sure what 'wokeness' would have to do with it, but I too still wonder whether the reaction isn't being overdone. I'm just listening to Johnson saying that pubs, clubs and restaurants must close tonight and not open again, when only a week ago they were still telling those without symptoms to carry on as normal and that herd immunity should prevail. I understand the need to prevent as best as possible a dramatic peak in cases, but I wonder if a middle course might not have been a better option. Most of us will probably get this thing at some point, and a significant number may have already had it without knowing. The sooner they get testing for those who have already had the virus, the better.
I get no sick pay, no holiday pay and I'm getting no help through this thing it seems. 5 million self employed in the same position. For ****'s sake!!!
They must do something for you and others like you, Col. It's more difficult I suppose, but I'm sure it will come. Those on zero hours contracts will need help too.
