Give @DPP says Mike Ashley=C*NT a few more days to get rid of his virus and you can send your kids round to his house. He will be working from home from Monday next week.

Not necessarily! Just because children aren't in doesn't mean teachers won't be in.

Plus my self isolation ends on Tuesday.

More concerned now what the Muppet's are going to decide over the exams

I heard they had been cancelled and you will be adopting the Indonesian System - whereby grades are awarded depending on how much the parents pay the teachers.

I am doing okay mate. Working relatively normally here although think I am developing an allergy to hand sanitiser.

Proud to be working in the oil industry at this time - what other commodity producer has reduced its price by over 50% since the start of the crisis just to help the world economy get through this and start building again in the future.

Still wouldn't get much, I work in a very poor area.

It'll be very unfair and unjust if it does go down to teachers judgement as for decades we've been told we're not professional enough to use our professional judgement or integrity.

On top of this there are some students who would do better. For example, I teach a boy I've predicted to get a grade 3 but in his last set of tests he got 105 marks so would have had 6 weeks to get at least another 15 ( or 5 per paper so one big question right per paper). Personally don't think he'd do it on paper but he may do if he had that time. Him getting a grade 4 would mean his life options would multiply greatly and he'd never have to worry about having a "pass" grade.

Whereas we have the great British pound in free fall against the Euro because our economy is so much stronger right?

Well after school today we were all called in and told we're working on as normal including through the Easter holidays and until the outbreak is over. That was a moderate bombshell compared to having to break the same news to my six and eight year olds as all their friends are preparing for months off. There were tears before bedtime in my house!

Gbp is in free fall as traders see an opportunity to make money. They'll make money on the way back up also.
    Traders love volatility in markets.
    Greedy ****s.

I work on the Wirral (near Liverpool). All the head teachers had a meeting this morning to pool ideas and (scant) information and agreed on what they thought best. There are two absolutely contradictory pieces of information put forward by the government. One is that schools should pool together and provide staff (so in north Wales they are using hub schools and closing most of them) but they also want pupils to be separated and the idea of pooling hundreds of pupils from different schools all together is the exact opposite of how to control the spread of a virus so on the Wirral they are keeping almost all the schools open but having fewer pupils in. We've been told we have to be in on Monday and are expected to work on indefinitely, though in fairness if there's enough of us I may only end up needing to work 2-3 days a week as we can do it in shifts.

I don't think any of the decisions are based on guidance by the government as there doesn't seem to be any.

    ps.

My daughter has been given virtually the same information
It depends on how many kids parents are key workers , but she has been put on a rota for starters
