Eventful morning this morning for me. Woke up before my alarm with pains across my chest and down my right hand side. It was only a dull pain but still enough to spook me. I did the sensible thing and got up and had a cup of coffee (not decaffienated) to see if it went away ( <doh>), which it did - more or less. Decided to go back to bed to lie down for a bit and the pain came back. Got up again and it went away again. So still feeling a wee bit worried I went on the 111 website, but anytime you put in chest pain with breathlessness it just says dial 999. By now I knew I wasn't about to pop my cloggs imminently and didn't want to waste valuable resources unnecessarily, so I phoned 111 instead. Told them I was fairly confident it was only something mild and may even have got a muscle pain from coughing, as I've had a cough since I had the flu in January. They went through loads of questions then told me I needed to be seen to be on the safe side. I couldn't go to the docs because I had mentioned having a cough so ended up with an ambulance outside my house anyway with me in the back of it, wired up to all sorts. After all that I was told I was fine and it was probably just a muscular thing from coughing. They did say that because my blood pressure was very high they would normally take me in for observation to be extra safe, but at the minute I was probably safer at home if It didn't appear serious.

I'm not criticising them in anyway. They were brilliant and just doing their job in being safe rather than sorry. Apparently they have to blue light it for any sort of chest pain report (which I hadn't known). It really struck home to me though just how busy they are going to be. As well as everything happening with the virus, ambulance crews will be spending more time with people that they would normally take to A&E or send to the docs. It was about an hour and a half from first phoning 111 to getting back out of the ambulance once it was all over. Those guys are going to be knackered when this all kicks in round here. I hope they (and their colleagues) all keep safe.

Hope you're OK!
Make sure you rest!

My bp was 183/115 last week ( have hypertension so on meds) but realised it was the flu medication causing it to rise that high. Dr told me off as bp that high can cause serious issues.

Keep a close eye on that mate - my dad had similar, and despite being diagnosed with a muscular issue by an ambulance crew, later discovered he had angina.

Don't hesitate to get help if it comes back. Better you chew up time of an ambulance crew or A&E doctor than have a heart attack and end up in an ITU bed.

Besides, you've still got work to do on the 2017 prediction league.

Despite what others on here think
It's good to know you're ok

Are you going to work on Monday then or not?

I am. Nursery can have my daughter, only able to confirm it at four. Only probably in for two days a week as that's all we need for staffing but that may increase if people start going off sick I guess. I know it's a cliche but I've been so proud of my work colleagues this week and wanted to try and do everything to be in next week.

Just been shopping in our normal Saturday upmarket western style supermarket. Busy as looks like Jakarta going into lockdown. Shut the borders and all working from home from Monday.
They had put a sign up on the bog rolls - two pieces per person but nobody was buying it anyway! Can only think the reason they did was all the expats would be following the lead of their compatriots at home. Anybody short let me know - I can send it DHL.

Going to be funny next week when we go down to buy 600kg of rice. Sure we will get some very funny looks.

Just driven around several shops.

Literally everything is empty! What ****ing twats we are surrounded by!

Our normal £60 a week ago came to £23.

Back to work on Monday so who knows how these key workers are going to get food and things.

Think there should also be a key worker shopping hour

I think we need to move as much as possible to online and deliveries. At the minute that isn't possible because of all delivery slots booked out for weeks to come. They need to find a way of increasing delivery capacity. Frozen and refrigerated items make that difficult, but there must be a way of utilising the vehicle network and drivers of businesses currently in shutdown.

My shop was online. No basics at all. No toilet rolls delivered, no eggs, no milk and no bread.

Have managed finally to get milk and bread (if kingsmill counts).
