    Slicing garlic like that is an utterly pointless waste of time - far better and quicker to smash it under a knife blade - but the point is, time was the one thing they had plenty of.

    If the outside skin of an onion is brown, crispy and dead, does it keep growing to keep the onion covered?
    Doesn't matter how small or big they are when you harvest them, they all have that crispy layer on top.

    Little known fact, farmers employ polish migrants to cover each onion in brown dead skin.

    Farming is ****ed after Brexit.
