This time of year is always one of the busiest I found for gardening, right up now until end of Easter. Just as spring is kicking in, and you pray for no frost! Then i'd use the early May bank hol, to catch up on anything not done.
Hardest thing I found to grow was indoor cucumbers, well not difficult, but you water the fookers too much or not enough, you kill the plant straight off. So i'd stick a piece of plastic tubing in the soil and use that as a measure, once a day to feed three plants. Eventually ended up with a fooking enourmous triffid!

as they say, if you can't think of something nice to say...say nothing at all.....or something like that anyway!
Never had a problem with my own indoor cucumber![]()

Yes, that’s a busy time, we used to harden off new plants from the greenhouse under glass cloches. Getting the timing rights a nightmare sometimes. This time of year is always one of the busiest I found for gardening, right up now until end of Easter. Only with plenty of sugar.

True but it's still one of favourite puds ... my maternal grandmother was from Lancashire and it was something she was always making along with Apple pasties and a pastry dish called "sad cake" ... all banging mate![]()

You’d love my ‘Do nothing cake’.I've never really been one for desserts, but the odd part of that is I love them all. Although after rhubarb crumble you'd need a pretty good tooth brush after, it stuck to your teeth like tar, that's how you knew there was plenty of sugar in it![]()
No, it’s equal amounts of flour to sugar, couple of eggs n vanilla extract. Once baked prick it all over and top with crushed pineapple (or fruit of your choice) then frosted with melted butter with sugar, evaporated milk, shredded coconut and crushed pecans. ( I prefer pistachios or walnuts).Treacle?
