Even Bamford might score against us. I know that's less likely than Hell freezing over, but it might actually happen.
I honestly dont think its effort thats the main, or anywhere near the main problem. Injuries and also the resultant constant changes are among the main reasons. But it's more than 'just' that. Theres simply not enough quality, experience, balance and leadership there. Plus, as said from the start, McCann is a naive manager who is (or worryingly isnt) learning. Pictures paint a thousands words. The picture after they scored spoke volumes. Hughton, Warnock are great calls. Even Nige.Unfortunately next to zero chance of that happening. Could see it being Daws as caretaker! Allams, please **** off.
No leadership off the pitch and no leadership on the pitch. I didn't even know who was captain last night I think it was Irvine ,who had an absolute stinker of a game. Not going to inspire anybody.
That’s really helpful analysis. If suggests we need two more wins to be pretty safe. Doesn’t sound hard but... Games 44 and 45 against Wigan and Luton look absolutely pivotal.
Like i said..half the story...it doesnt account for his shocking subs or refusal to change tactics..his lack of passion on the sidelines...i dont think we would be this dire without players leaving and injuries. But thats not the only reason...half the story........
I think our League 1 and 2 promotion teams would wipe the floor with this mob. Even the two teams who secured Championship safety would wipe smash our current team.
OK, put it another way. Your son, aged 24 has known and seen more success at Hull City then any other generation in the club's history. Even Peter Taylors teams who you name were promotion winning teams, ie; better days and times to be a supporter of Hull City then today. That was my point. We have a generation who have never experienced a run like this or the threat of relegation to league 1.
It was a ridiculous post - if the old girl really has been following City for 50+ years she's definitely seen worse. Try as hard as you like, there's no blocking the 1990's out ffs.
I've seen the Club through some fairly alarming periods(first game 1969) but the situation we face at the moment rates as one of the worst.I have never before had a problem forking out good money to do the round trip from Glasgow but the effort from this current bunch of useless money grabbers makes the effort un-appealing and our current owners just compound the frustration!!! I couldn't care less if we sank to the lower leagues as long as there's some guts and fight on display.....We're not seeing that at the moment and that worries me!!
The biggest threats you face are the slick one two's in the penalty area, diving headers and overhead kicks. Watch out too if you concede 25yd free kicks which can be deadly especially to the bloke in row z pouring his flask.
I don’t know wether we should be trying to get the win now or just try to stop us losing. I am sure now that Batty and Stewart should form the core of our midfield. We desperately need to start winning the ball and retaining it. Our possession stats are just desperate in most games. So it means either we can’t pass or we are just hoofing it anywhere. Long again picking up the blame but what can you expect when he has over twenty shots to deal with. He need better protection from the middle of the park and the defenders. The more of the this he has the less potential for an error. Listened to McCann interview and found it alarming again. He talks about fighting all the time, fight this, good group etc etc., He never talks about quality or retaining the ball. Patience or resilience is unknown to him. He needs to take responsibility for what’s going on for the full 90, this is his team and he has brought in the players. If they were not the players he wanted then he needs to stick up for himself more. Also he ought to set a better example rather than slouching around all the time. For Gods sake get stuck into the players and make them do their jobs as professional footballers should. He remains for me a lower league manager. Its **** in the cold light of today to call for someone’s head but I don’t think he is the man for the job anymore. We need to get rid before it’s too late.
True, but without income, they will have to pay the interest themselves. Oh dear..., what a pity..., how sad..., never mind!
I’d be tempted with 4-5-1 for Saturday. But with more natural midfielders on the pitch. Not sure if we even have 4 fit defenders? Midfield has to have some energy so Batty/Stewart/Lopes/Irvine/Wilks Up front Samuelson who looked handy in his few minutes. With Wilks supporting when we have the ball, dropping back into a 5 when we don’t. No Magennis please Terry - I can’t stomach watching another hapless effort I witnessed last night. Maybe he can replace Long in goal, probably more use in goal than a non scoring centre forward.
