I honestly dont think its effort thats the main, or anywhere near the main problem.
Injuries and also the resultant constant changes are among the main reasons.
But it's more than 'just' that. Theres simply not enough quality, experience, balance and leadership there. Plus, as said from the start, McCann is a naive manager who is (or worryingly isnt) learning.
Pictures paint a thousands words. The picture after they scored spoke volumes.
Hughton, Warnock are great calls. Even Nige.Unfortunately next to zero chance of that happening. Could see it being Daws as caretaker!
Allams, please **** off.

Ehab will go for the cheapest option, which is promoting Andy Dawson
If he could then bring in Ashbee as his No 2, Deano as striker coach & Justin Whittle as defensive coach we'd stay up no problem!!!

They're not a team, more a group of misdirected individuals
MCcann is proving not to be the manager we need
The owners are just onerous...
The ConAllamVirus has spread from the 'head' down

I’d be tempted with 4-5-1 for Saturday. But with more natural midfielders on the pitch.

Not sure if we even have 4 fit defenders?

Midfield has to have some energy so Batty/Stewart/Lopes/Irvine/Wilks

Up front Samuelson who looked handy in his few minutes. With Wilks supporting when we have the ball, dropping back into a 5 when we don’t.

No Magennis please Terry - I can’t stomach watching another hapless effort I witnessed last night. Maybe he can replace Long in goal, probably more use in goal than a non scoring centre forward.
Agree with most, and I never thought that I’d say this, but Honeyman in for Irvine and we have a deal.

Being a very old bastard I've seen some real ****ty teams wearing the black and amber. The thing that's upsetting me the most is not the quality of the football but the atmosphere at games, lack of connection with the club and fans not standing side by side in their support of the club. Even when we were wallowing in the bottom league we would go mental if we won a corner. A shot on target was a Brucie bonus . Maybe we've been spoilt for the last 10 years. Maybe the world has moved on and football isn't so important to people anymore. Maybe football has gone so far up its own arse nobody cares. It's a shame because City were such an important part of our lives bringing friends and families together

Who was the commentator on Sky last night?
He go the players names wrong all the time.
He even got mixed up between Samuelson and Honeyman.

Rob Palmer, a City supporter.
I didn't notice he got players names 'wrong all the time'.
What I did notice was that you could sense his frustration as a supporter, rather than an 'impartial' reporter.
Many of the comments in this thread, were uttered by Palmer ..... the loss of Bowen & Grosicki doesn't excuse the poor performance; always playing the long ball; not retaining possession; injuries are costing City but the team and experience should make up for that; and on and on he went.

He must have got names wrong a lot more than half a dozen times.
I think he was guessing at the players by their positions. Once he said de Wijs cleared the ball when it was Elder and as the ball went upfield you could see de Wijs running back.
The West Stand must have been packed if there was over 10k at the match.

Had to double take there, thought you said the players were guessing at their positions. Maybe that's why Palmer was so exasperated.

This fella would do us a job!

Not in a million years is he coming out of a well earned retirement to manage us in a potential relegation battle - he doesn't need the hassle, and I'm pretty certain he doesn't need the money either.

Doesn't Colin live in Cornwall as well?
He'd probably want a contract with incentives built in, with some sort of accommodation allowance, that soft lad or his old man wouldn't even consider, or would **** about for so long it'd be too late.

I always remember listening to warnock when he did a bit on talksport with Alan Brazil, it was possibly before Cardiff so maybe after phelan left city
Brazil asked if he’d had any offers
Warnock replied: I’ve spoken to 3 clubs, 1 employed someone else, 1 went in a different direction (I forget the exact phrase). And the third club haven’t got a clue what they are doing.
I sat driving along thinking “that’s us then” :)

Highlights <laugh><laugh><laugh> They are taking the piss now.

Nonsense
The actual highlight of the night was Askew trying to get in by scanning the card he got with his router that has the password on it

Genuinely hilarious, particularly when it became clear he hadn’t brought his actual pass because he thought that was it!

City managed to stop me laughing or course, but it took a while
