Duck billed Platypus has to be up there as one of the strangest creatures.

It has electromechanical receptors in it's nose that allow it to detect prey in the water, and the males have a venomous barb on their ankles that can disable their prey.

Plus they're one of the only mammals to lay eggs.

Hard to pick one species but out of the big cats it's got to be the Tigers. Absolute beasts.

Tardigrades.

Tardigrades are not on any other endangered list and have survived five mass extinctions over the course of around a half a billion years, according to National Geographic.

I think my favourite creature that I've personally seen in the wild is the Manatee (nicknamed the sea pig). You will find them around the warm waters of the Keys, and in the Mangroves, totally vegetarian to my knowledge, and are happy as a pig in **** if you give them a whole lettuce. I believe they used to be a protected species but they may have lost that status now. I'm sure it was illegal to swim with them and to give them fresh water from a hose, which they loved! Very tame creatures that can stay underwater for a considerable time before having to come up for air. In fact the first give away sign of them, was normally air bubbles on the surface of calm water. The sad part is as I found out in the states, half the Americans don't even know what they are! Hence because of that they get maimed by boat propellers, because sometimes they will float just under the surface of the water.

That is literally how tame Manatee's are mate. If you give them fresh water ie such as from the hosepipe they will just drink litres of the stuff, and let you touch them in the process, even when their young are around. I've probably got a few photo's.

Orcas are amazing pack hunters dubbed the wolves of the sea, easily one of my favourite animals. Scary clever.

I saw Orcas in British Columbia last year. Amazing creatures. Where I was staying was close to a sound/inlet where they swim up into shallow waters, so you can stand right on the edge and watch them from a few yards away.

Saw a Wolf when I was over there too. Bucket list stuff.
