All red card and penalty decisions the referee has to go to the monitor and look at it himself.

I honestly don't see that being a huge improvements tbh. It's the same people in the var booth and with the whistle at the end of the day.

At least he can explain his decision to the players.

Fair point. Was funny the other week when Coady was seen saying 'you're the ref and even you don't know why it's been disallowed'.

It seemed that they put such emphasis on reviewing it in real time that they lost sight of the fact that even though it looked worse in slow motion, it was still as clear a studs-up challenge as you will ever see. I just lost most of my respect for Michael Oliver for sitting on the fence and not getting involved in the decision.

Hahahaha they've just admitted they've got it wrong.

A fairer game though <doh>

Once it has gone to VAR , is he allowed to get involved ?

Genuine question .

Just a disgrace all around. How can you admit that it's a mistake DURING the game.

Surely they should just send him off now?? ****ing joke. It wont matter because chelsea have won anyway, but that is shocking. What if lo celso had scored the winner

Lo Celso will score the equaliser now.

It’s ridiculous that the decision makers defended their decision by claiming that there was nowhere else for Lo Celso to put his foot.
I find putting mine on the ground to be quite simple.

So after the last few weeks does anyone still think that handball and offsides are the only issues with VAR?
