Does this mean they'd intended to buy the club?

Not outright. It would be the same if they were taking equity.

In which case I don't quite understand what's meant by this, 'the only reason they would advise to close it would be if they weren't going ahead'.

Because the option on the table now is not to purchase some equity or use a convertible loan that would open that possibility up in future, it's to buy a majority stake only, right now, or someone else will.

This move indicates they will not be taking any equity in the club, unless they are going against the advice of the extremely reputable people they hired to tell them the best way to do it.

    Ah right.

The reason I'm not understanding is that you've gone from talking about buying the club, in posts, to it etc being 'equity' without making a distinction.

"She said that they wouldn't be buying a UK company with a US company. That's pretty much as good as you're going to get on this one."

"She also said if they were buying us
, they'd likely also set up other companies around the holding company rather than just one,"

Maybe they have set up the other companies and, as this one is high profile just dissolved it .. Anything could be happening as SD seems to have learnt to keep stum this time around, and conduct his activities in private rather than have us lot having bun fights over the internet..

So by rebuking you for saying you believe I am miserable and dont like football you feel vindicated??
English literacy is not your strong point.
Basically your sort view that because I am not a sheep and dont pander to smug I am therefore miserable?
I am not allowed views of my own.
I dont like donald, so I don't like football.
That puts me in the same boat as thousands of others .
I dont glorify football violence ..oh dear I must hate football.
    Etc etc.
Be brave man, have some ideas of your own. Dont seek approval of others.
    You will feel liberated.
I wont put in an emoji to try and add gravitas to my points. Although your sort clearly believe they add something

For the purposes of the company involved, it doesn't matter if they take 10% or 100%, they would use an SPV like FPP Ltd to purchase whatever entity they were acquiring a stake in. The latter paragraph refers to the distance people are advised to keep between themselves, their SPV company, and their target acquisition.

Lots of reasons why, some applicable, some probably less so in our case, but from what she said it's pretty basic stuff, not something that would differ between the companies giving the advice.

Yeah maybe, but we'd know if they had as they'd appear as directors. There's also zero reason to do so that she can see.

  15. I feel vindicated because post after post you make supports my assertion. :emoticon-0103-cool:
    I don't use emojis to add gravitas.:emoticon-0142-happy
And,I feel very comfortable with who I am, and I won't be taking any advice from " your sort". :emoticon-0105-wink:

You're assuming they are going to be the Named Directors though.. in essence we know nothing apart from SD is trying to sell the club.
I can think of thousands of reasons ... “US LOT”

I wasn't aware that this discussion was solely about League One, or shifting goalposts to make a point, sorry for the confusion.

At one point doubled the club debt.
Relegated more times than any previous owner in our history.
Alienated a significant section of the hardcore supporter base.

We’re not financially stable at all, we’re more reliant on him than ever.
