And on the day Alonso pays tribute to Vettel's driving this season! Bad grace, I'd call it. Or maybe, as I said before, he wants to draw maximum attention to his one big overtake of the season.
I think he should shut up about it because it's making him look petty to keep bringing it back up. As others have said, Lewis suffered much worse during that race.
When I am in a hurry to get to work, I DO exceed the speedlimit, though only what I think i can get away with. Heck i have probably ignored a minor red light once or twice (pretending not to see it), or made a U-turn where I wasn't allowed (also pretending not to see it). Well I actually don't drive that fast anymore, I am 35 and have grew up, but I still brake some rules every now and then. I think everyone could relate? Now add to that that you have a championship waiting for you around the corner, its not so hard to understand why them drivers pushes it is it?
People in the media are often twisting/angeling things to have something to sell and talk about. I can assure you that if you were to watch the German F1 coverage you would see a whole other picture. That's not news to most people how the media controls what we perceive.
MSC have undoubtedly made some questionable decisions and been involved some questionable incidents over the years. Personally I don't think it has been that extremely serious, but then I have mostly followed his career through Swedish media.
All I am trying to say though is, Dislike him(MSC, or whoever else it is you dislike) all you want, we are all different. But please try to focus less on the negative things, and if you must do it, do it maturely.
I think to be good in F1 you have to win at all costs, being a nice person in this sport gets you nowhere so Vettel is right to complain and I feel Alonso did nothing wrong just hard defending from viewing but if Vettel was'nt complaining it would'nt be right neither. Vettel seems a nice guy in the media but it is clear he is driven enough to do anything to win, this was on display when he was quite annimated in his confrontation of the Pirreli chief at Spa. Therefore Schumachers pushing the limit of what is fair against Hamilton is just down to his competitve edge and really no less should be expected of a winner.
People will hate, we cannot change them... Schumacher speaks for himself on the track. He held the 2008 world champion behind him (he was driving a car that was 1.5 secs slower overall), his defending was tough but legal.
Hamilton over did it in Malaysia vs Petrov, nobody brought that up..

Just in case I've been included in some of the recent generalisations, I'm not into hating at all. As others have said here, it is a very negative thing. However, recognising that someone is a cheat is not the same as 'hate'! Neither for that matter is disliking someone, for whatever reason, even if it's for despicable behaviour or cheating.
I've quoted Manny's little comment here because it could easily be shortened further to:
"cheating is built into him⦠put up with it".
In spite of this, I don't 'hate' him!
I know Schumacher pushes the boundaries of acceptable behavior on the track and I don't like that part of his character but I cannot deny he is one of the best drivers F1 has ever seen.

Just because it wasn't punished doesn't make it legal, he was in clear contravention of the rules and sporting conduct. I don't hate Schumacher, I frequently criticise the BBC for their persecution of him and I said it was wrong to penalise him at Silverstone this year and Monaco last year. But in Monza he crossed the line, as he has so often in his career.
As for Vettel/Alonso, Benson says Vettel has denied reporting Alonso to the stewards. I don't think Alonso could really complain if he did anyway after he kicked off in Malaysia and had Hamilton punished after the race

It is indeed a shame that his on-track behaviour has overshadowed his innate talent. But this is why he is not and never can be a true great (for me at least). And I say this regardless of favourable circumstances.
Gone are the days of the Black flag it seems but that is yet another record he can claim; he was the last F1 driver to receive it. But guess what? - He pretended not to see it - repeatedly!!!

Agree with this. The defence that you're "braking the tow" is every bit as frivolous as the "I was retaking the racing line". The rule is quite clear to me, and both Schumacher and Hamilton broke it.
Hmm Schumacher's defending was almost illegal whereas Hamiltons was within the rules... you are only allowed to make one defensive move in the braking zone which Schumacher was doing to close the door on Hamilton, whereas Hamilton just tried to break the tow in the middle of the straight which is perfectly fine as he did'nt move over in the braking zone.
By that measure, it is fine to weave on the straights to 'break the tow' so long as you don;t 'weave' in the braking area.

Drivers used to know what was acceptable so rules were never needed to cover driving standards. I fyou were out of order you;d be shown a black and white flag, if you were still being a dick you'd get shown a black flag and face the wrath of the other driver when you got back to the pits!

Well Petrov was following Hamilton's car for the tow intentionally whereas he could have driven around him instead of following him all over the straight so not really unsporting there but going on the inside line and braking towards the outside what Schumacher was doing into Ascari was questionably illegal hard to call really.
But wasn't it the Hamilton incident that caused the clarification to be issued, which Schumcaher then broke? Lets face it, the straight between Ascari and Lesmo is too short for there to be a tow so that argument would never work. He made two moves to block Hamilton as Hamilton had better speed and traction out of Ascari. There was no tow to be broken.
